What kind of bug is this

What kind of bug is this saw this chilling on one of my leaves

Fungus Gnat? I saw a couple of them in my tent and put up a bunch of sticky traps...seems to have worked.

Thanks I just threw down some potato slices to see how bad the problem is

why feed em dry your plants up sticky traps catch adults not the eggs and larval stages in soil

Ok thanks I have some spinosad in hand. Will this take care of them?

honestly i havent heard of that but i assume it is a pesticide.hopefully organic.i wouldnt use anything before other i tried control measures first.you said you saw a gnat so i assume its not a big problem yet.simple things dry up soil cover top with some vermiculite lower RHi if possible make sure any extra organic material is cleaned and removed.that will or should close the nursery and grocery store.if you want to put up stickys for adults go ahead but they dont live long anyway.and if there is no suitable soil for egg laying or decaying organic matter to eat the cycle ends.same as most gnat and fly species its about source elimination

Spinosad is organic and will work but you will have to reapply in about 3 days when the eggs hatch and you need to kill the larvae. I use jacks dead bug brew which has spinosad its claims you can use it up too 2 days before harvest but i wouldnt.

So just use it each watering until there gone? Guessing I should wait to flower until I take care of these

No i would definitely take care of them now as they get super annoying and can eventually damage your roots. I would def spray now and then again in a couple of days. I would also pick up some yellow or blue sticky traps to hang around they work great at catching the mature ones before they lay more eggs but wont get rid of them alone
Also if it gets bad look up food grade diatomaceous earth works wonders on little bugs !

Just to add perhaps the obvious,fungus gnats aren't just a mj problem. If your wife or mom or whoever has alot of houseplants around I'd take a look at them as well.im a noob mj grower buy I've been in pest control for a couple decades.I cant tell you how many calls for some kind of bug in a womans house I've been on and this is the problem.

I use spinosad for thrips.....Gnatrol for fungus gnats.
