What seeds for RSO?

Just found out my father in laws cancer is back and looking to make RSO as quickly as possible. What should I go with in terms of fast growing and amount of product?

I will be buying him his own tent, led light, etc as well. Looking to grow 2-3 plants at each location. Any recommendation for light? There are so many choices and really need to buy ASAP. I have about a $300 budget for the light.

Lots of info on here about RSO. I'll share my thoughts. Take it or leave it. I started growing for this same purpose and eventually found it wasn't very feasible.

To make RSO you need a lot of plants. Several pounds of bud to make the full treatment. If you have never grown then producing several pounds indoors will be a big investment and a lot of learning, There is a recent thread from a guy that tried to make RSO and was very disappointed with the end result. I advise that you look up that thread.

$300 will not even come close to the investment needed in my opinion. $3000 seems closer to the mark. You will need several 1000 w lights with reflectors and electronic ballasts and quality bulbs. You will need a veg and flower room with the correct bulbs for each. You will need a large room, not a tent. You will need vortex fans, air conditioner, reflective material, pots, soil, nutrients, odds and ends, power tools etc..

To answer the question, the best quality indica seeds you can get. Northern Light is popular. White Widow I think also.

Figure 1 week for setup, 3-5 for veg 10-12 for flower, 2-3 for curing..

A better option may be to get some co2 oil right away. If you're in a medical state this stuff is really inexpensive and close to RSO. Check out POP NATURALS co2 (Honey) Oil. People will argue that this is not RSO, but I think it's a close second.

@sunny747 Thanks, think Im just going to go the 600w HID route for him. That should be enough to produce what we need between him and me.

He's not stage 4 or anything but time is still of the essence. Going to order seeds tonight and order the light, tent, exhaust in the next day or so.

Yes, 600 w should do a 4x4 space nicely. Best of Luck.. Keep us posted. I use herbies for seeds. Get to my house in less than a week.

Lets analyze.

Lets assume an incredible yield of 20% during extraction.

Lets assume .75 grams per watt.

A couple pretty big assumptions perhaps.

0.75 x 600 x 0.2 = 90 grams of rso.

Will that supply be what you need to get through between harvests?

You need to consider that 300$ will cover maybe the light and inline. Your American, you luck out. Your tent is going to be around 150-300 depending on quality and size. You might be able to buy a total used package for 300-500, but that's used and risky.

Check out Cannatonic from Riot Seeds, lots of high CBD phenos in there. Making RSO you'll be using full plant stems, leaves everything. This strain will give a lot of pain relief without as much high. if you can buy 2 packs go for Critical mass or a big bud, will get you big yields..

I personally know some cancer survivors, they say the key is to get to a gram a day for at least a month. I'll tell ya that won't happen right away. I have a high tolerance and if I haven't taken RSO for a while .15g will put me down for 4-6 hours, but you build up a tolerance rather fast so I would guess within a week or 2 he'll be at the 1g a day dose.

Yea, I imagine a person would have to condition their mind a bit for the first two weeks until they get used to the high. I'd have to prepare audio recordings for myself. "You are healthy and strong.. Everything is as it should be.. Mommy loves you.."

While waiting for you buds to mature, can you get your hands on some quality oils or tinctures? Couldn't hurt. It help build a tolerance and probably help with the cancer..

I listened to Rick talk about high CBD strains. He does not recommend high cbd strains. He wants a well balanced high thc indica strain. Would probably be cool to try both or mix in the cbd strain at .25%.

You know... there are people around that will sell you RSO. I was offered 35 grams to get started while my plants grew. It's expensive, but worth it I think.

@sunny747 Too funny at the audio recordings lol! I am actually buying a total new setup for him and me. Both are going to be the 600w hid. I was just going to do him but I know Im not going to max out yields as Im just doing my 3rd real grow. Between the two of us there will be 8 plants and Im thinking I should get atleast 2oz per plant for a total of a lb that should net me the 100g - 180g RSO.

I dont like the idea of buying RSO. I think 90% of the time people will sell snake oil instead. They know you are desperate if looking for RSO and they will sell you anything just to make a buck. Not too many honest people anymore.

@SnapsProvolone I will actually be running two 600w setups. One at his house and one in mine. From what I have heard is that he needs about 1g a day. Between the two of us I expect to get at least 100g -180g. This should be more than enough. Most people take for 3-6 months so we should be good.

@Grojak Thanks for the tips. I actually just bought Northern Light and some other strains that I forget ATM. He hasnt smoked since he was in HS. Do you think he should start smoking before he starts the RSO?

I wouldn't say he needs to start smoking just start VERY small doses. I actually measure mine out with a scale that can read down to .01g. I would start your dad on .03g for a day or two than step it up to .05 and so forth. If he is smoking by that time you can probably give him .05-.07 to start.
