what size holes to dig? and a horse manure question.

i have scotts premium garden soil to mix with the loam out here(nobody in the area sells ffof), im just wondering what size holes i should dig, minimum, to fill in with my mix? i also have easy access to aged, dried horse manure. should this be mixed as well?


as far as the holes, i heard marijuana roots expand outward moreso than growing downward, which is why i ask.

well man...dig as much as you want.... you cant dig them toooo big... personally i say 2'x2' is about right.... that should = one bag of compost

and on the manure im not sure... im debating using cattle manure but still not sure....

For digging the whole, your are right that roots want to grow out more than they want to grow down, so dig your hole two feet down and three feet wide. if you do that you will have some monsters. I dont know about the horse manure, havent heard too many people use that, but less is more until you know how it affects the plant. good luck:weed::weed:bongsmilie

I dont know about the horse manure thing as well, but should give it a try....Im gonna, will let you know what the mix was, although I will be using FFOF for my grow should be up and going here real soon!

ill have a dozen or so to put out by the end of the week. will definitely give the manure a shot with some of them- will post results as well.

idk how big my holes are but i used 2 bags of fox farms ocean mix per hole lol ya it sucked hauling it in there but hoping to see good results probly 4 feet deep and 3 feet wide.

I swear by horse shit. in the piles behind my barn i can put seed straight into the pile and they will grow 5-6' tall with 0 maintenance. I'd like to know what adding fox farm would do to it cause I just orderd some for my outdoor grow experience

just plain soil or would using FFOF be too rich for my girls? I was thinking about trying two different mixes... seems how I have an abundance of horse shit to choose from, thought I wuold give it a try!
