what to do with waste?

Hi. i always wondered what do you do with waste?
I'm not a grower yet. but i'm dreaming and reading every day to learn as much as possible so when i do start to grow i'm well prepared.
Anyweed, what do you do with waste? all growers got waste like stems and leaves.. and if your not doing hydro you got used soil as well.. where does it all goes? most of us got neigbours so you can't really just trow it in the compost with the grass and leaves. how do you get rid of waste from your grow op?

I just burn it...... It's so hard and/or expensive to get pharmaceutical grade chemicals for extraction that Ive mostly just given up on it. Ive got so much trim and premature buds it's just a hassle. I used to try and save every last fan leaf but now it's just become laborious.
Unless you can afford lab equipment and clean solvents I just don't think it's worth worrying about.

It kind of makes me sad in a way that's it's lost all it's mystic, but I guess that's evolution.

theres a few options.. if you have a very small space or not many plants, there isnt much sense in saving the lesser parts of the plant IMho.. but I would say for anyone with a decent amount of "waste.. make hash.. tea, cooking butter, or oil extracts.. it takes a lot of waste to make it worth while to do these processes.. I throw away most of the left overs.. usually just leaves and stems.. fine trimmings i use for cooking, tea or the bong if necessary

I burn my leaves and stems from harvest. Fire pit in the summer, wood stove in the winter. The dirt/root balls go into thick black garbage bags and I dont take out the garbage until the truck is 2 houses away.

I put it in the compost bucket, I just make sure There is something below it and over the top of it after Ive put my waste in. Ive never had any problems before.

Edit: I do have neighbours too

With the stems and such I just take the left over product grind it up into almost like mulch and mix it in the soil that I have and let it pretty much compost. Since watering and such you lose the soil so I just use it to add more and the left over soil I just my 1kw espresso machine steam wand to heat up water up to around 170 on a meat therm and sterilize the soil and do a flush to. Make sure to PH the soil right and its almost as good as new.

With plastic and metal if you have to proper stuff you could wash them very well grind it up melt it down into some thing different like plastic sheet and take it to the recycle guys thus it won't look like a container or any thing like that.

what if you have around 20 plants? would be 20 pots with soil.. and 20 sets of stems and leaves.. would be much to get rid of..

I have no idea how safe it is for them but if it is buy compost worms. They will help brake down those stems and such. Grow some herbs , fruits and veggies and put scraps of those into the compost worm bin and you can turn around and sell it as organic soil or give it away. I also saw a video where a person did the compost worm thing and she took things like old paper work and such shredded it up and added it to the compost to get rid of sensitive info. Grow your fruits , veggies and herbs out side because that can be a good cover to use to. ;)

I see you didn't read what he was asking. He wanted to know what people do to the left over waist after you've used the stems and lefs not what do you do with the stems and leafs after you harvest and not make hash and such with them.

Get rid of 4 or 5 pots worth per day in the garbage. Theres no rule that you have to get rid of it all at once.

Well if/when i start to grow i'll think i move a little outside center.. maybe get a place where the next neigbour is at least some hundred meters away.. got to find a place that's a little for itself but not to far out...

If your toilet lines are tied into the city you could grind up some of it very find and flush some down the drain. It mixes with human waist and they wouldn't be able to tell if its fine enough. ;)

well your fucked if it plugs your plumbing... i'll rather take the chance on grinding it up a little then bury it down with the compost even doh all the neighbours use the same compost site..

I break my root balls open, shake and remove as much loose coco coir as possible. I then re-use that coco on my next grow. Supplemented with compost.
I then smash up the root ball and add that to the compost heap.
I use the mulch that comes from making bubble hash and also add that to the compost.
I cut the twigs and stems down and also compost these. My plants are being helped along by old plants, you gotta love that.

Yea. But if you make your own compost then you can get away with it even more. A coffee bean grinder should be really good with turning it into pretty much dust since it can take regular sugar and turn it into powder sugar and even turn coffee beans into very fine stuff.

Yup that's always the best to do because you always end up throwing out soil here and there from run off and what not so you just need to replenish it. Add a little perlite and what not after sterilizing the soil and PHing it and what not and what not and your soil is like seedling soil but better because its more natural.
