The Sumerian kings list is a load of horseshit, and so is the bible...people NEVER have lived past 120 or so, and that is the EXTREME upper end of the human lifespan...period.
People's lives have been getting progressively longer the closer you get to modern times, with better nutrition and medical care. To think the lives of ancient kings and religious figures was many, MANY times longer than anyone elses is is just plain ignoring facts and common sense.
If you wish to live a life ruled by myth, lies, superstition, and poor translation, feel free...just keep it to yourself.
They also say humans were living in caves not long ago didn't they. Then out of no where you get advanced earthquake proof stone construction some of which cant even be replicated today. I dont think history was as simple as whats been touht in schools. Looks like there are advanced structures dating back to the ice age and before. And who knows were they got those techniques and information from as it wasn't from a dumb civilization who were living in caves. Who are the red haired taller pale mummies found in pyramids that china is trying to hide. Who knows the life span of every humanoid species thats walked the earth. Do they even know for a fact every species thats walked the planet.

1. What structures are you talking about...and which ice age? The mini one?
A. What building techniques?

2. There are ginger Asians. Are they trying to hide the pyramids or the gingers?

3. Including people living for hundreds of years as part of your Bible truths weakens your position incredibly. Insisting it's all true makes it hard to accept any parts.

Do you bible dudes go with the new earth interpretation/timeline saying the world is 6k years old?

Gobeke tepe is one, malta has some, pyramids are all over the world some mirror the orion belt star positions along time ago when we were supposedly in caves. The old testament follows the same myths told in other cultures and religions. The book of enoch wich is not put in the bible is very interesting. The historians used to laugh at the Hindu religion saying its full of myths till they actually found the city of chrishna now swallowed by the sea. Now they arnt so sure. Anyway going off topic. My point was we talk in absolutes yet we dont know half as much as we think we do. We think a tiny few hundred years of advancement has made us the greatest but thats a tiny spek in the grand sceme of things. We dont know as much as we think.

Do you know in Hinduism they talked of flying machines powered by a red mercury when put to other elements and used a certain way created anti gravity fields. Did you know in recent times their able to make crude displays based on that technology showing possibilities that if used right and with the right technology it might actually be possible. Eg mercury vortex technology.

We could start with your claim that the ark carried all the animals of the world and Noah lived 950 years. Something that is impossible and is not justified by any evidence whatsoever. I even posted a contradiction rooted in genetic science that refutes this myth. You chose to not reply. lulz.

We could move on to your post that said God was continually pruning humanity with lightning and other disasters as if he were fallible and needed to kill off his mistakes.

We could then move on to your ignoring my observation that the bible you claim is God's word says the earth is flat.

We could do that, except you cling to your belief in a mythical supernatural being and will use the God myth to find a way to justify that bullshit.
I love the Noah & the Flood bit…easy as anything to dismantle - the way they’re so focused on proving that THE flood happened & skip right over the impossibilities of THE ARK happening as ‘reported’ - any one of which would have pretty much sunk the project.

I love the addiction to miracles, without which their idea of gawd can’t even run the world it “made” to its own satisfaction - despite being the most micro of micro-managers, it’s apparently really bad at the one job it gave itself.

I love the insistence that the most far-fetched & ridiculous motives, purposes, & outcomes be taken as seriously as the product of those ‘gawd-given faculties us apes are so proud of….

‘Talking religion’ with these folks just elevates their nonsense in their own eyes & encourages them to demand acceptance of every deus-ex-Machina they come up with

Is it so easy to dismantle the flood theory. Pops up in alot of old myths and religions. There was a time when alot of water was ice for a long time and much more land masses were uncovered. At some point they got swallowed completely by the sea. There are plenty of ancient citys under water, you can check them out if you want. And that is probably a very very small sample of what must of been swallowed and engulfed, as thousands of years of being under salty sea water and all the silt waste and dust and slime has probably completely covered lots of those and wore much out and made them unrecognizable now and at one with the sea bed. I dont think many scientists argue about falling and rising sea levels and how some sort of disaster or comet strike towards the end of the ice age could have coused something like described in the bible and worse. Im sure pole shifts would also cause some big big problems for any civilisation living and could easily wipe out a lot of things.
Its easy to dismiss things we dont understand as fabrications and laugh at them, but some of those myths may have some basis in reality. When different cultures across the earth from different places and times have similar themes you have to wonder.
Our planet has had at least five ice ages that we know about. The first one about 2 billion years ago and lasted about 300 million years. Alot can happen in that much time and leave not much trace of to find today.

There was a legit find of tall, big-boned red-haired mummies, but out in the western wastes IIRC, not in pyramids. DNA revealed little-to-no ‘asiatic’ content, but they were legit (sorry, I forget the dating on the remains). No idea if any link has been found between that group & the Ainu of Japan, which has some similar characteristics (sorry, ain’t brushed up on it in a minute).

Acknowledging the limits of what we know is one thing; speculating on our imaginations is something else entirely.

I made this last weekend, so yummy.

Dak Bokkeum with Spinach (Korean Stewed Chicken with Spinach)

Gochujang is an indispensable Korean sauce based on fermented soybeans and chiles. You'll find it in Asian markets, or seek out Annie Chun's brand, which is more widely available.

Ingredients
Ingredient Checklist
  • ⅓ cup gochujang (Korean chile sauce)
  • ¼ cup (1/2-inch) slices green onion bottoms
  • 2 ½ tablespoons lower-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
  • 2 tablespoons minced peeled ginger
  • 2 tablespoons dark sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cut into 1/2-inch strips
  • 1 ½ cups uncooked short-grain white rice
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ¾ cup (1 1/2-inch) slices green onion tops
  • 1 (5-ounce) bag fresh baby spinach
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

  • Directions
    • Step 1 Combine the first 8 ingredients in a large bowl. Stir in chicken. Cover and marinate 30 minutes.

    • Step 2 Place rice in a medium saucepan; cover with water to 2 inches above rice. Stir rice; drain. Repeat procedure twice. Add 1 1/2 cups water to drained rice in pan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove from heat; let stand 10 minutes.

    • Step 3 While rice cooks, bring 1/3 cup water to a boil in a Dutch oven. Add chicken mixture; bring to a simmer. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Uncover and simmer 10 minutes or until mixture thickens, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in green onion tops and spinach. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve with rice.

I’m sorry, yeah - it really is.

Look at the workload: say (for discussion) only 500 kinds of animals, 2 each, so 1000 different animals, needing different foods, pissing & shitting on their own individual schedules. Let’s postulate a per-pair poop burden average of 10# daily. Times 500, that’s 5000 pounds. Every day.

Say it takes 5 min. to scoop each pair, and 15 to carry the waste topside & toss it overboard, 5 to return to the next, let’s add 5 for scratching, self-care, whatever…that gives us :30 x 500, or 250 hours for a single go.

Well, how many workers do we have? We have 8. If we had 10, and they all managed to work CONSTANTLY *and* collectively squeeze in another hour’s work, we could do it. However, no one would be able to sit down during the voyage - or sleep, or eat, or do anything but scoop & dispose of animal waste.

Not even time enough, or personnel, to even FEED the beasts. With only eight, each must work THIRTY HOURS PER DAY without a break, the whole time. No food, no sleep, no rest. Violent motions of the ark beneath their feet. The heavy rain keeping the people below-deck, so no escape from the endless stench. No clean clothes. Water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink, might be the worst of them all.

As I see it, even if it was tried, there is ZERO chance any of the crew survived, ZERO chance all the animals survived (breeding pairs, remember?). Based on reality, that is.

Remember, I didn’t say floods or flooding: we’re tsunami-aware these days, right? Also easy to guess that a big rock falling out of space could raise one HELL of a wave if it hit water (75% or the planet’s surface. LOTS of history & evidence of major/catastrophic flooding around the world. No specific evidence of which rock gawd supposedly threw; not really any solid tie between “the flood of Noah” & any particular flooding event of any proportions.

Of course, it needn’t have been an ocean strike, right? A land strike would generate hella rainfall, for sure (again, there’s evidence), and THAT’s how Paul Bunyan saved the blue ox…no, wait, that’s how the fairytale says the flood came: rain.

The big problem with a rain-induced inundation of global proportions is that the planet’s surface is only occasionally concave…and water seeks its own (lowest) level…the chance of a boat of that supposed size & inevitable weight/displacement was able to remain afloat for THIRTY DAYS (c’mon, it didn’t start to float on day one) - then come aground ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN - is once again ZERO. It’s a tale worthy of Baron Munchausen.

Absent CONTINUAL MAGICAL INTERVENTION by *some* god in *some* machine *somewhere*, it never happened. It couldn’t have happened as relayed. The world simply isn’t like that at all, and magical intervention OF THE REQUIRED SCALE has been 100% not in evidence in recorded memory (the “inerrant” snake-oil account notwithstanding).

Back to “inerrancy” again, but just for a moment: it strongly suggests that “Bible-believers” really only believe in THE BOOK. They believe all the fantastic & anti-human crap in it BECAUSE THE BOOK TOLD THEM TO BELIEVE IT.

After all, they no longer have the weight of Rome (church or empire) crushing them, they must be brought to heel by other means.

Oh, and our occasional reminder that “the bible” was assembled for Emperor Constantine, at his behest, and to his specifications - and for no other reason. Everything since has been jockeying for position.

Next time, we’ll talk about Josephus Flavius
