Good for me. Ha! I couldn't give a rats ass about what's good for me :D I ate a few grapes last week when Kuroi was down, but that aside, it's probably been aobut 6 months since i ate some veg. I just can't understand the logic in spending my money on vegetables when i could be spending it on cured meats and cheese :)

For soup though, to hell with recipes, soup is all about creativity. To quote black books, my oven can cook bits of oven!

Forgive me. courtesy of being a chef, whenever i hear the word recipe, i think of a recipe, as in just copying someone else's directions because they don't know how to do it themselves. I've seen your food, as vegan as it might be, but you clearly know how to cook, and cook well, even if it is the food of heathens! ;) I have a bit of a thing about soup "recipes". Recipes for adventurous soup maybe, but for soup soup, there should not be recipes, just guidelines on what makes a good soup. For me, if i have a butternut squash, or a packet of creamed coconut, then i can make anyyhing! :) Seems every chef has one ingredient they would never do without. My old head chef who i saw off to portugal today, his was garlic, my new head chef, his is citric acid. Mine is creamed coconut. Everything is better with coconut!

tonight was asparagus, some yellow rice, and a cut of salmon with a maple/soy glaze. WHile preparing this I had my first tokes in a couple days, and while drinking some orange juice decided "I need to brush some OJ on this fish!"

So of course, I did it but once I put it in the oven and started packing another bowl, I realized...man I should have used a fresh orange so there isn't all that extra shit on the fish. But unfortunately the deed had been done and the fish was cooking at a couple hundred degrees so I decided to kick back and let it go. I drink an OJ thats advertised with the whole no this no that pure OJ whatever, I think thats the reason it didn't end up over powering the fish...that and the fact that I only used a really small amount because even as I was brushing it on I was thinking man this may ruin the meal hahaha

feel better soon tip top :bigjoint:

Tried making a new desert and had to make sure it tasted ok :) Never made a cake in my life so was most pleased :)

Warm chocolate fondant cake with orange zest, served with toffee and baileys sauce with vanilla ice cream and a red berry and lime "jam". Still got to work on how best to present it, but tasted darned good :) All iv'e eaten today. Maybe i'll have a rack of ribs :)

sounds lush that tip top. if i were you i'd lose the jam, quenelle the ice cream and thicken the baileys sauce to a more treacle/toffee, zig zag over the plate and drag a fork through it to make patterns.

fondont cake looks a treat man. very good for a first cake.

tonight... beef tagine with pomegranate couscous

I must ask. Did you use an actual tagine? Just to be pedantic :D

I made up 15kg of lamb and feta burgers today only to be given a new menu without being consulted so they're in my fridge :) Only issue is that i have until tomorrow morning to eat them, else they have to be frozen for a while. Damned wisdom tooth out in the morning :(

I did!! Takes a bit of shelf management in the oven. Take one out n lower the other and it just fits.

So have you smashed a few burgers down and frozen the rest? Wisdom out can be easy or not. Hope you get the former man.
