Whats Something Good To Reflect The Light?

Im am thinking about starting to start growing indoors... I got everything down but what would be a good material that would reflect the light in the room but won't damage the plant like alumni foil will.

Mylar is cool. Aluminum foil is fine. How does it supposedly damage the plant?

Well I didn't do it a friend of mine who grows did... He put foil up and somehow the light reflecting off it got to hot on the plant and made it die... but when he had no foil they were doing good he just put foil up there thinking they would help them more.

Aluminum foil will work to reflect light adequately although mylar is better. The foil shouldn't hurt the plants unless it makes contact with roots or leaf stomata because aluminum is somewhat toxic to plants. As long as you just use it to reflect light and make sure it doesn't touch the plants you should be golden.

Aluminum foil is bad for your plants. White paint is good, mylar and black&white poly is much better though. Check out your local hydro store. Once again aluminum foil burns your plants and creates hotspots.

check this out :hump:

very inventive with the tube around your light. but I think if you go to your nearest dollar store, pick up one of those sun blockers for your car window. they really reflex the light pretty good. cheaper then maylar, safer then foil. good luck.

white shower curtains.. if u buy cheep 1s from the dollar store u will need to back them with garbage bags

i went out and bout one of those emergency blankets they seem to reflect light good i doubled them up just cuz, the only thing is they are made to hold in heat but i have two PC fans bringin in and blowin out good fresh air so thats not a prob. the temp stays at a steady 75F i have yet to hear neg. comments on the blanket idea so im going with it to see what happens, and ya tinfoil is bad i had that up in the beginning and it burned a spot on my leaf so i ditched it

If you go to home depot and go in the insulations sections you will find white styrofoam. It is a fantastic light reflector and rigid so you can form it into stuff if you need to :blsmoke:

Foil damages when you have creases in it. THe light gets thrown in all dirctions. Sometimes light and heat is focused on one spot causing burning to the leaves. Trust me, happened to me.

Ok got it so today's lesson, when using aluminum foil keep it flat.
