What’s the best led

I've personally made the mistake of buying either undersized, or buying brands that do one thing well (veg) but not the other thing (flower) LED fixtures.

Expect to pay between 400-800 USD per fixture to sufficiently cover 4x4, depending on what brand & what features you need.

I'd recommend any of the "basic three" brands which would be Vipar Spectra, Mars Hydro or Spider Farmer. These are like the Toyota Camrys of LED fixtures, but I dunno if you've seen a Camry lately but they're pretty frickin sweet  lol!

I recently won this awesome light here on this forum:

Mars Hydro FCE 4800. I was in the market for one anyway but was lucky enough to win it. Two of these would FUCKING SLAY a 8x4 with not much added heat. They're like $430 right now but no doubt there will be a 4th of July sale coming up. I highly highly advise, no matter what, get this bar style and not the quantum board older style like this one:

This is the Spider Farmer SF4000 old style, I was borrowing it. Great light, SUPER intense but generates more heat & a wicked "hot spot" center under the light, bar style has way more spread. Go bar style for sure.

Oh I just looked at the spider farmer sf1000 will that be okay to run with a 1000w hps
Thats a great light in a 2x2 tent

If you need to grow now in the 4x8, keep using what ya got and save for a properly sized bar led. You won't be upset about it. As Harley mentioned, the Phlizon is a good light as well. I won one of the 640w ones on here and it rocks in my 4x4 tent.

This is a big light but the dimensions are not listed.
Edit: 42-inch x 42-inch. Maybe two of them for your 8x4? AGLEX 800W LED Grow Lights. $450

PS I have no experience with them, sorry, just saw this in deals thread

2 x 12ft extension cords, to cut up for the wiring,(already includes the main plug, and end outlets for daisy chaining fixtures). $8

Connect all the sockets together with 5-8" sections of the extension cord wire with stripped ends, just like a rope light.. but better and more compact. Zip tie them to a frame or string it up however you like. Pry the plastic globes off the LED bulbs, snip the 2 pokey metal + & - prongs coming from the driver as far down as possible flush to the diode chip, and blob high temp rtv silicone over it to protect from electric shocks. Screw them in. Mix and match diffrent bulbs for different spectrums if you want, but warm white will flower nice. Daylight bulbs are a little more at most stores, and a 50/50 mix works too. Unscrew bulbs if you don't need them to save power, but make sure its unplugged first. Easy peasy! 560w LED grow light for less than a bill.

I hope they still teaching high schoolers to wire up lamps these days... :bigjoint:

that's a subjective question regarding LED"s for grow rooms , every one has there own views on the subject ,I my self promote GLA (@Grow Lights Australia and they do ship world wide with a RUI discount) as the tech and specs bet others hands down as they don't follow the sheep and use the same products or buy and rebrand as so many others do these days -

So the best advice anyone can and should offer is buy the best you can afford and suits your situation and look after it , most will upgrade LEDs every couple of years as tech changes
