I covered my floor with pond liner, others use things like kiddie pools etc. You might also consider a smaller res, easier to contain if there's an accident.

BTW, individual little pumps can be used rather than a pump and distribution system. I use a couple of these for various things.

Look into tropf blumat. They work great.

why not use sip buckets on a rez and control bucket. i can fill my 25 gal rez and leave it for 6 or 7 days. im using 6 sip buckets. once you get it dialed in its on autopilot. i put a small pump in the rez to keep it mixed and aerated.
