Last year, I did a grow of Mandala hasberry and satori. Both strains were quite excellent, and I am now down to less than an eighth of my personal stash. Unfortunately, I had some kind of fungus, and my hashberries hermied. Lots of seeds. My satoris did not hermy, but they had seeds as well from the hashberry pollen, although not as many as the hashberries did. All in all I got 50 or 60 seeds from the satori plants.
I was a little pissed until I realized something. Not only are these seeds all crosses between two excellent varieties of weed, but they are all feminized! Sweet! So this year, I decided to start a new crop. I planted three seeds from a mix pack at first, then two weeks later I decided to start some of my feminized seeds. Oh by the way, these feminized seeds are ENORMOUS! I think because there weren't many seeds on the plant, they all grew to be extra big. Here's a picture of one of my seeds next to a seed I bought from Greenhouse Seeds. Mine is on the right.
So anyway, two of the mixed seeds germinated out of three, and all four of my monster seeds germinated. Over the next few weeks, my monster seeds caught up to and surpassed the seeds that were started two weeks earlier! Both the mixed seeds turned out to be male, so this grow was only the four satori x hashberry seeds. They were pretty impressive. I attached a bud picture, as I just harvested them. I had one plant that was very sativa-dominant, even moreso than satori. The others had more indica-looking buds, but ranged in size and bud density.
I haven't smoked any of it yet because I'm trying not to because I have midterms coming up, but my friend smoked some of the one plant and he said it was really high quality, and kind of a sleeper. That was my most indica-looking plant so I expected that. No seeds on any of my plants either.
I planted some of the hashberry F2 seeds outside, and got some nice-looking plants there as well. I'm surprised I haven't seen a single male flower on any of those plants yet either.
So yeah, a little growroom accident resulted in me getting a whole bunch of awesome seeds! Next grow I'm going to take clones of each plant and keep whichever ones are my favorite.
