To go more directly to lighting systems, use this link.

Some of the better values might be found in the Digital Greenhouse systems, so they are worth a look.

Thanks... There 400 watt for $119 looks like a great deal..

It's not a Mercedes or a Lexus, but it is good value for the dollar, overall a better one than is normally seen for the same kind of money.

If that is all someone needs, it will more than just do the trick. If someone starts to upgrade it, in any way, then the price gets close enough to another light or two that would cost a little more than the $119.95 light plus one upgrade, but it would be gaining a lot for the little extra.

I wouldn't recommend ANY of the above..

Every city has an Electrical Supply store for Electricians on the road.

Pick up a phone book and look up Electrical Supply.

Here in my town it's a company called Gerrie Electrical Supply.. they are one of the biggest electrical supply outlets in the world and there will likely be one in your city. Go there.
They will sell every kind of light, ballast, wiring, sockets, fixtures, and any other equipment you need at a fraction of the cost of any Home Depot, or online store..
Not to mention if you purchase online, the shipping and handling and tax on it will be more than the cost of the light itself in most cases.
And if you are looking to blow loads of money unnecessarily, go to a hydroponics store (also in the phone book) and buy a light specifically designed for growing weed.
They are incredibly expensive and IMHO not worth the cost over normal HPS and MH lights.. But that's up to you.

OR you can go to an elec. supply store and buy the ballast for $30, the light for under $30, the socket for $2, the cables for under $10, and a 2 foot length of duct tube from any hardware store for about $4.. IF you want to cool it you can even put an inline duct fan in the tube for another $10 or so.. If you cut the ducting properly and make lips at the edges, you can even get some window pane glass in there too.. Not completely necessary, but it helps reduce heat.. not sure of the cost of the glass.. anyway.. Spend 30 mins rigging it up and you got yourself a grow light for under $80.. and pay IN CASH, so you leave no electronic records that you're growing.

Here's a similar video to what I'm talking about. only I'd leave it round, cut an I in the bottom and fold the flaps out so that it's stays more like a cool tube.. But that's personal preference.

I wouldnt buy the very worst brand there is (htg supply). Spend an extra 50 bucks on your system and get a ballast that isnt going to run super hot and burn out on you.

Have you ever used HTG lights?

I have 4 total from HTG, oldest one is 4 years old and going strong, haven't had a single problem w/ any of the 4 lights I have from them.....u understand that ALL magnetic ballasts get hot right?
