LA Confidential produces rock hard buds. Not sure why anyone would choose a strain based on some superficial quality, but it definitely falls into that category. Good smoke too. Not a plant that yields a lot. Not super fast either despite being heavily indica.

Cali Connection Pre 98 Bubba Kush produced lovely rock hard nugs. Not a huge producer but very good smoke with a lot of pain relief and relaxation.

I come from the days of brick weed so the entire bag appeal thing escapes me. For me it's about the smoke!

yeah back in the dayz it was always
just "weed".... no one ever bothered to inquire what Strain it was... in fact we probably didn't even know or understand the word Strain LOL
Since I am the one harvesting and trimming etc I do find trimming NUGGETS much easier than trimming fluffy-stuff!
Fluffy-stuff with great taste is great...
but I want Quantity with Quality and Bag Appeal
I also want easy and satisfying buds to Clip n Trim
Nuggety ones! Super Fat! Super Dense! YUM.
"White Lemon" has really Impressed me... very dense nuggets absolutely Snowed On By Crystalz..... also "Critical Jack" had very nice nuggs and the smell alone should win a smell-prize... But "NLX" is looking just outta this world.. dense and creamy coloured and sticky and stinky and sparkling with crystals! mmmmmmmmmmm xxmisslostinnaworldofbudsxx

EXACTLY! I mean back then it was weed, great! We weren't spoiled like the children today. We had to hike up hill, in the snow both ways to get OUR weed LOL!

Yeah learning to just keep my plants alive until harvest was quite the trick. Now I'm supposed to do things AFTER I killed the plant? I was like, "Dude you serious"? How do you make it dry slower in the Mojave? 10% humidity is usually where my room is at! At some point when I move to entire rooms as opposed to tents I'm planning on using my current male tent for drying, humidifying (I know most people are horrified at humidifying during drying but I can usually jar in 24 hours (OR LESS) during summer. It's to fast to control.

I've missed you! How have you been? Tell me who this White Lemon is by? I LOVE Lemon taste although I have a Kosher that is rich deep molasses, YUM! Anyway I have a Female Seeds Lemon Kush I am wondering how it will turn out. I'm really hunting strains this year. I've had a lot of Cali Connection genetics saved and I've popped everything I had of theirs except for the pack of Pre 98 Bubba Kush I have put away LOL.

Just a tip, I dry in a low humidity, while not as low as you, it has the tendency to dry too quickly.

Start drying and after a couple days start jarring them. Leave buds in jars for 4-6 hours, then air them out for a couple more. I find this method very good at slowly drying the buds and getting them to start curing easily without over drying them. Do this for about a week after the first couple days, then resume normal curing procedure

Eta: it helps to have a hydrometer but one gets a feel for the sweet spot

Like I said under 24 hours into jars or you have dust here ;/ I am at the limit of my environment. We have about 2 more years here prior to moving. Then we are moving north and I will be able to do it more like you discuss. I'm also looking for land and putting up greenhouses. Enough having to share rooms with my parrots. Damn you think RIUniuns are assholes critiquing others growing, you should listen to a couple of my macaws run down your grow fails, UGH! Heartless man really heartless o_O

Oh and don't let the cockatoo amongst the flowers you won't like the results, he's like an entire herd of locusts.

Sorry if I missed that tidbit. Perhas sooner than. I can imagine it's a pain as I wish I could leave the buds to dry for a tad longer.

I had birds growing up. A couple cockatiels, and a Solomon Island Eclectus (male). He was a very smart bird but when he was reaching sexual maturity, started plucking and we eventually found him a sanctuary for birds.

I just lost Fred. I'd post a picture but I can't start crying this early in the morning. He was my cockatiel of 27.5 years. I loved that guy. Doris who hatched him passed away almost 20 years ago herself, sigh......

My husband had a Vosmaeri Eclectus. My home is a sanctuary for birds! LOL We had planned to stay here so the final thing was building out the aviary to cover the pool. Yeah..... spoiled parrots. Now we are moving we are not finishing the plan and hoping we get the money we invested in the house back when we sell it.

I rescue corvids when I can. I am still followed by a family of Ravens when I run. Speaking of which I need to get off my big fat butt and move it LOL

Swamp coolers can produce a tonne of humidity and can be a help from what I've heard. I have no experience with RH that low and it would be quite annoying to deal with I'd imagine. I think probably the best bet is to keep making that killer extract and just give it to the man frozen wet/fresh.

Where I'm at it's never really a major problem except sometimes it's very high. But I've found indoors I've never had a big issue one way or the other and give it very little effort. Fortunate for that.

Sorry for your loss. The one cockatiel that was mine, and best buddies with the Solomon Island Eclectus was decapitated by said bird. It was such a horror show i simply left my bird at the bottom of his cage (why she went in there is beyond me, they'd been friends for several years). I shut the cage to keep him out and told my father to deal with the mess. Worst part, the Eclectus kept looking for his friend, he only took up worse behaviors after that and he needed to be with other parrots

Yes living out here in southern california we use swamp coolers a lot. I admit I thought about swamp cooling. However I'm not unhappy with the lack of humidity other than the rapid drying. Since I don't grow to sell and @cannabineer 's concentrating for me, the loss of VOC's didn't make me unhappy since you are losing them anyway in the distillation. So for the moment it's an unnecessary expense.

But I've been mulling over if 2 more grow years, here, are worth the expense? Worse it won't work in the winter when I'm drying which is when I put up most of my stuff. So that's where my thought process ends LOL.
