White strains

I've been window shopping at Nirvana and noticed that they classify each strain as either a white strain or not a white strain. I googled it but got some vague results.

I am a total newb to good seed and all and have zero idea what the difference is. can someone please explain.

white strains are usually your White Widow, Black Domina, Great White Shark, and any other strain that frosts up so much it has a white apearance

i dunno how Nirvana classes their gear, i know the name things after other strains but the genetics arent even close to the namesakes.

Are white strains any more difficult to grow? I noticed some of those said 9-10 weeks flower. Or is that simply just an extra week or so?

some are a lil nute picky liek white widow, and yeah 9-10 weeks is about right for most of em ....breeders give you a 1 or 2 week harvest frame time to cover the pheno spread...some plants will finish earlier than thier siblings

How are they picky. Sensitive to overfeeding? soil has to be "just right"? is it a drastic difference than non white?

I'm growing my first White Widow, and it's been a bit of an education ... a picky plant. I couldn't make her happy in hydro ... she would nute burn at 400 ppm! Now, in FF Happy Frog, she's happy. I'm hoping for a White Easter. cn

Sensitive is the word, and picky is accurate. Some like heavy nutes, some light, Some enjoy medium nutes with slightly acidic water. Others want pH 7 and nothing else will do.

Every plant is different and all have slightly different needs. This variability carries over not only from strain to strain but also within the same strain. Until you have a significant number of plants grown under your belt it will be a continual learning cycle with errors and setbacks. If you do your research on a plant strain, have a couple grows under your belt and have a good idea on how the strain is performing for others and under what conditions then it becomes easier.

(sorry about that, I had a stoned moment tanget)

I grow organicly, I brew guano teas, and use supersoil as my base, I have not ever had a over nute problem, they seem to like the organics, I never herd they were picky on the nute level. some White strains seem to take alittle bit longer to flower Raspberry cough is a 11 week strain and it needs every bit of 11 weeks , White castle is a 10 -11 week strain,,, as blue widow is a 8 week strain

Snow White is not worth the 10 week flower period.I'm assuming you have No access to cuttings?
No, I've seen mites on the clones around here. i clone, but my set up is small so it's difficult for me to get a good yield of clones. i only need 4-6 at a time so I end up doing them in soil. When they work though they grow into monsters

I always burn em at least once when i'm going with the tea's.I need to get with some of my guano buddies and actually pay attention.I hate those long flowering times too the product doesnt seem to be any better in any way and sometimes its shit anyway, long process picking Moms.To each his own though Bro.
