Yep, assassination is a tool authoritarians use to gain or maintain their grip on power. The only thing stopping the radical right from wider use of it in the US is the DOJ is not under the control of MAGA GOP. They seem to be free with making death threats. I would like to see that kind of intimidation get more attention from law enforcement.

It's not acceptable. Lots of Republican Party members have called her and wished him the best. I can't stand Pelosi, but shit like this is never ok to happen to anyone. It was lucky it ended as quick as it did. Sounds like he didn't even have a house alarm on or anything.
If that happened to Trump instead I have a feeling a lot of you guys might feel differently.

As I recall and catch snippets on History Channel, the whole thing became dirty and extortionist in nature with Jimmy Hoffa..off to a good start with him, he went south. I remember my dad and uncle who had AC company crossed the picket sit out (Teamsters could stop for almost any reason) my dad telling me he was worried he'd be followed and killed by the Mafia (parents: don't ever tell your 10 year old child something like that).

the party that refuses to expell the extremists that are trying to destroy our democracy? the party that refuses to censure disrespectful, bigoted, hateful statements from gosar, greene, boebert, jones, grassley.....? that party that condones the seditious attack on our own government on 1/6? the party that is contemplating allowing the criminal ringleader that failed to carry out his overthrow attempt , to try again? does it seem odd that i consider any member of that party as guilty as those they condone? those they don't even bother to be apologist for? a shrug doesn't fucking cut it...every republican is responsible for what those violent few do, because they've condoned their actions thus far.
