How long should the tap roots be before planting? And you plant them tap root facing downwards right?

i let the root come out about half of centimetre then just plant them root facing down ye,within one to 2 days there out the soil and growing

I know you guys hate questions without pics, but I have several nice plants in an outdoor grow, some ww's and some "free" seeds from Amsterdam Seeds. I have about 10 total and all but two are doing fantastic. These two, (variety unknown), have crinkled leaves on the new growth which seem to just grow in a big wad. They are lush and green but badly deformed. They are approx 30 days from germination, and haven't shown sex yet. Any ideas? My camera got wet and is on the blitz....sorry!

i havnt got a cure but i had this problem when my plants was about a month old,,i asked a few people on here what it could be but no one realy had a straight answer,it could just be genetics but i realy couldnt be sure but my plants have pulled threw nicely without anymore deformed leafs so i wouldnt worry too much,from been a cuting to a month old my plants always seemed to have a weird shaped leaf but like i said it didnt do any harm as all my leafs are ok,good luck man..im just learning,its only my first go at growing so its all a learning curve

wow... really far behind. yours look beautiful! currently i am not using any nutes, considering its my first grow. i am using compost from my backyard and mixed in some fertilizers... what else could i add that isnt too expensive or complicated?

I'm am quite new to growing and I am having trouble telling if this plant is male or not. Please hear me out first...
I did look at the post in regards to telling the sex of the plants and I have also googled it and looked at numerous pictures.
The reason why I am still confused is because my plants are still in the vegetative stage (since May 6) on 24 hour light under a 400W HPS. The other plants I have (3) definitely look like they are female because of the hairs coming out, however, I have read numerous times that you can't tell the sex until it starts the flowering cycle. Is this true?
Here's a couple of pictures of the plant that I believe is male. What do you guys think?

Yes, I have 3 other plants and they all have hairs coming out. I removed that male from the tent today because I was pretty sure it was a male. Will my females of already been pollinated or do you think they are still okay?

what ph should my soil be and how can i adjust it? i read the rating with a 3 in 1 meter and its pretty alkaline. everything ive read says is should be acidic around 6.0-7.0 for soil (but thats for water)
This is just out of curiousity but where abouts in England? It just im english and i only moved to Australia 16months ago. You'll find it hard to find a decent yeilding plant for English conditions even in summer. You could try "Holland's Hope" very cold resistant plant from skunkplanet. But personally i would be getting a decent lamp and go all hydro as it produces much better results even in Britain

Hey all I am about to start my first grow and had a few questions. I am planning on buying a cabinet from Wal-mart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Storage-Cabinet-Alder/11061206 and making it into a stealth cab. The dimensions are 22.31 x 15.25 x 59.6. I was wondering how many plants everyone thinks I would be able to fit in there. I wanted to do 4 NL auto-flowers with lights on 20/4 and a femm'ed Sour Kush vegging until the autos are done then flip the light to 12/12 so the Kush can flower. Do you think I will have enough room for this inside the cab or do I need to look into something bigger? Heat from my lamps shouldn't be too much of a concern as I will have intake and outtake then through a DIY carbon filter plus I am using T5s which I have read run considerably cooler then an MH/HPS.
If anyone has a good video on how to put in the fans into a cabinet similar to this I would appreciate it as I am not someone that you would call Mr. Handyman.

Hey StreetLegal, hopefully you can help me. It's my first real deal grow and im going to flower in 1 1/2 weeks. I found a flowering mix that i guess you put in the dirt with your weed. The bag says its for roses, but can i use it for the weed when im flowering? P.S. I also topped them, Idk if that makes a difference.

I have yet to find any small oscilateing fans. In the area you have (as mine) small fans MOVE plenty of air around.
In extremely small (like a PC grow) areas, where you can not get enough air in through any passive intake.

That's only 2 sg. ft. for 5 plants. Sounds too crowded to me. For the fans I use 5" Black grate from lowes or home depot. I can't remember the exact name but they're by the PVC stuff. I use a jig-saw to cut the middle out. I drilled holes to mount the fan. Hope that helps.
