ok, like months ago i saw a post by a grower for a cropping method, he said that cutting 1 leaf off of each node will create a spiral looking plant and allow more light to be penetrated and less work since the leaves are gone. i was wondering if anyone has done this with good results or even know what im talking about? also is it ok to mix nutes together in the same gallon of water and how long is to long for that nute mix to be sitting there?

Hi,
I've germinated my firsst plant in my grow box. I've got 4 20w cfl's in it. Two questions:
1. If i my plants reach 5-6 inches and i change light time, will they flower? If so, what would yield be? small, nothing?
2. I know the female bud is what we are looking for but some mates of mine say you can harvest and smoke the leaves as they have thc glands as well, such as white widow. Is this true?
Thanks guys!!
p.s please take the time to +rep me!!!
Peace and love!

Reputation is earned, not given.
A plant of that size could yield anywhere from 5 to 20 grams. Depends on a lot of factors.
The amount of THC on a mature male plant is minuscule. People who smoke male plant leaves deserve your pity. That's worse than resin man.

I have a germination/sprouting question - You have a germinated seed via the wet paper towel method (i.e. the seed has cracked and the tap root is showing). The seed is place in a jiffy pot/pellet. At what point do you put it under light? Before or after the plant sprouts and shows it's cotyledons?

Hi, I was away for two days from my growbox and when i got back my two week old seedling(pictured) has brown leaf tips on a few of the leaves. This is because it got too near to the cfl bulb i had. I know, I should have made allowances for how much it was going to grow, but I didnt know I was going to be away. What if anything can i do, and will this affect the plant?

does anyone have a few pointers for cloning? Im on my second try...

I am cutting lower branches, I put them in water and make final angle cut under water, I dip them in clonex immediately afterwards, and put them in sponge plugs from my hydro shop.
Other than that, Im not sure what i can do.. My clone chamber is 73 degrees F. Humidity is 65%, and I am using an NGW clone tray with vented lid..

Any links I can go to? My first batch just withered away.

Keep those sponge things REALLY wet for the first 7 days. Sounds like you're doing most everything right. It could be a little warmer, maybe 78-80...

Okay so Im a first time grower and Amazingly enough i got a tree growing in my room with a 400W MI light in soil and here are my issues... I've been on 12/12 since dec 2nd and after about 3 weeks i began to see Strong sex signs with many bud sites everywhere with lots of hair coming out... now since then its never changed... just in the last week my leaves all started curling downwards and looking droopy but the areas with the hairs started getting a little crystally!!! my buddy seen the tree and told me i should cut off the fan leaves to allow all my other bud sites to recieve adequate light so i did and i regret that now after actually reading about it and figureing out that those leaves helped with food prduction or w/e... but year so now my buds are still TINY some of the hairs ( about 5% have started to brown) and there isnt even visible bud really its just COVERED in hair.... my question is will the stay like this or will the buds eventually grow ???

my nutes were alll i could find... im growing in egypt and its tough finding shit here i found NPK and its 19 19 19.... thats about the ONLY fertilizer i can get in egypt....

Hey guys, I'm thinking of growing white widow. Now I've heard a couple of stories about guys growing it and people smelling it when they walk by the house. I've also heard that you can grow it outside here (england) and in northern parts of america that are on similar latitude? Is this true?

Also what's the best way to control height indoors? Put it on 12/12 light from seed? (will this cause it to flower quicker or when it's still small?) Pruning? Bending over the stem gently? Or are there other better ways?

hey roughly how much water would i water a plant in a 3 gallon grow bag as im worried about over watering it
You add enough water to have at least 10% of what you add drain out the bottom. Then you wait for the soil to go dry; determine how dry it is by lifting the planter and testing the weight.

It's more about frequency than volume. Don't water too often and you'll be alright.

gotta a medium and lgiht question, have 6 seeds in few days ago in just MG garden soil, which was on the 11th and out o the 6 3 of them are almost an inch above surface. using 2-32w 6500k shoplight bulbs. had clear wrap on top of the cups for added moisture. today i mix som perlite and bt guano into a bucke with my garden soil and seeded 8 more. and placed srruand wrap over the top. the room stays between 75-80 and the moisture stays between 28-30. i have the beans on 24/0 since i got the 8 new ones in should i swtich to 20/4 or keep it until i transplant ?

once i make eh transplant, i was thinking of getting 2-2' ?watt 6500k shoplights and running them vertically one on each side and hanging 4 23w 6500k cfl's over top ? will his suffice ? and once i stitch to flowering can i just switch all the bulbs out with 2700k bulbs ? any and all advise would do me wonders...........much appreciated.......

Shop lights suck balls.

Put that money towards more CFL bulbs and clamp light reflectors. Keep your plants short.

Until then keep your bulb about 2 inches from the top of the plant. Don't underestimate the need for ventilation. The saran wrap is unnecessary. You're going to need to get your temperatures down to around 72 to 78.

Careful with your potting mix. It sounds a little hot and you didn't include any pH buffering or micro-elements. Dolomite lime is a pretty common supplement for this reason.
