I couldn't disagree with that statement more.
Should we learn nothing from our countries last depression? Hoover sat around and did absolutely nothing and it only fueled the economic downturn.
I'm more into learning from historical mistakes. I guess that makes me a dumb liberal.
Who's thinking backwards now?
Yep, a dumb ignorant liberal at that.

Hoover expanded government power, and jacked up taxes (from 25% to 75%)
FDR, being the fascist bitch that he was jacked them up to 93%.

Trying to say that Hoover did nothing is an ignorant, stupid liberal talking point.

Now, if you can find mention of the last recession where the government did nothing, that'd be the 1920 - 1921 recession where the government's response was to lower taxes. The boom that ensued is remembered in history as the roaring 20s.

Not to neglect Kennedy's lowering taxes during the slump of the 60s that lead to a decade of economic expansion, and was capped by the landing of Americans on Lunar Soil.

Or Reagan's further lowering of taxes that set the stage for nearly two decades of expansion.

But all booms go bust, because malinvestment happens. People make mistakes, because no one (especially not bureaucrats and politicians) are omniscient.

History shows Socialism to be a failure, and it also shows that you are ignorant of history. Must be the public "education" system at work.

And just like the roaring '90's, the big bust came next with the lack of regulation and the inherent greed in the investor class. Hoover continued on with the do nothing agenda and it took Roosevelt to dig us back out with massive spending, sort of like Obama is now attempting. Geeze, talk about ignoramuses TBT, where is that damn mirror?

So doing the wrong thing is better than doing nothing? If history has taught us anything it is that Roosevelt prolonged the depression. We were also not having 50% of our national debt owned by foreigners.

Wild govt. spending is not the way to bring back the economic engine...it only gets in the way at best or siphons off entrepreneurial energy which may lift us up. Unemployment is 20% over Obama's own promise, and rising. This will have a ripple effect on the entire economy. People out of work don't spend money, which is KEY to the Obama recovery.

IT WON'T WORK! It never has and it never will. He knows this however, which truly troubles me.

Yup, We should just take your word for it, being that you are............ was it a Harvard graduate and constitutional law professor, oh no, my bad, that was Obama.

Well obviously Obama doesn't know jack shit about the Constitution, and is a lying piece of shit, based on how easily he is violating it repeatedly by expanding Federal Power in DIRECT CONTRADICTION to the Constitution.

And even if he is a "Constitutional Law" Professor that doesn't mean that he knows jack shit about economics.

Thanks. Personal attacks from a conservative? I don't believe it for a minute.

Hoover expanded government power, and jacked up taxes (from 25% to 75%)

Wrong, tough guy. It was 60% at most
;)
Just like a conservative to inflate monetary problems.
Statist economics aside, Hoover was essentially a "do nothing" president.

FDR, being the fascist bitch that he was jacked them up to 93%.

FDRs tax increases were seen as a moot talking point by everyone except you, apparently. This statement of course is relative to the remainder of the New Deal policies.

Trying to say that Hoover did nothing is an ignorant, stupid liberal talking point.

You've done nothing to prove me wrong, so I'll keep talking about it.

I never said anything about the countries last recession. You need to read more.

Not to neglect Kennedy's lowering taxes during the slump of the 60s that lead to a decade of economic expansion, and was capped by the landing of Americans on Lunar Soil.

Off topic.

Or Reagan's further lowering of taxes that set the stage for nearly two decades of expansion.

Off topic and irrelevant.

But all booms go bust, because malinvestment happens. People make mistakes, because no one (especially not bureaucrats and politicians) are omniscient.

Thanks for the pointless history lesson. Thanks for the brevity, rather.
;)

Please point out in the history you speak of, the failures of Socialism and I'll point out just as many successes.
Also, I didn't attend any form of public school. Please don't speak of topics that you know nothing about. I suppose, in order to do so, you'd have to delete every post you've ever made on this site and that hilarious conservative toilet you call your personal website.

Not sure what history you are referring to here. Only a very small percentage of people believe that the New Deal programs and policies prolonged the Depression. Even most conservative economists no this to be untrue.
Actually, the percentage of people that believe this is likely to fall in line with the percentage of people that believe that Obama is not an American citizen.
I don't really cater to arguments against the lowest common denominator. :peace:

Yes ...let's all read it again:

whatever whatever whatever. Obama will go down in history as the worst, he spends , spends, spends, and National Health care wil be the worst. We live in the United States of America not Canada. He is burying us into a hole we may never get out of. My husband is retired army, My son is in the army and my daughter is also in the army stationed in Iraq. So our roots run deep, my family has done their part in serving their country. So all of you who have nothing but praise for Obama ned to get a grip. Have you served your country????
What does your "roots run[ning] deep" have to do with support for Obama?
I like to think that I: 1. support Obama; 2. have a grip; 3. have proudly served my country.
Have you server your country?????
