Hey Lacy,
I'm not a pro just a nov.
This is what I want to do when I get the energy-
From what I have read if you have a 1 mother from seed (lets say 8 week old or older or 1-2 feet) you can take x amout of clones, we will say 4 clones ( remembering that not all will live/root). Now those clones are the same as the mother -totally the same (first clone batch) now you can put those into flower after they have rooted so 10-14 days later.
Now when they have rooted start to flower right away. If you got 100% rooted you will only have 5 total plants (1 mother and 4 clones now into flower) so you can still have 7 more plants and be ok.
ok. anyway- after those clones rooted start 4 more clones (2ed clone batch) from the mother plant and start the rooting again.
Now you still only have (1M, 4 clones Flower, 4 clones rooting total of 9 of 12).
Just to point out lets just say it has taken 14 days for the clones to fully root.
This will mean that the (1st batch of clones will now be 2 weeks) when the (2ed are put into the flower stage)
Now do this every 14 days (when the clones have fully rooted)
You should have a space with (1 2 3 4) or (1 2 3) the #s rep. x amount of weeks (2 weeks) for this example. So in the number 4 spot that (1st clone batch will now be into flower for 8 weeks)
This will allow you to have the amount of plants thay you want (12) and have a cycle of flowered plants every 2 weeks or 3 weeks -ect what ever you want.
And after awhile of taking clones from the Mother you can use a really good clone to make into a Mother and start to clone off of her.

Hey again,
You might want to look into a 600w dig.bal system I got mine off of ebay for 220 with everything. Its quite, compact and gives alot more lumens then the 400w. The only issue that I have come across is finding a mh bulb. But with what I want to do it doesn't matter. I use daylight cfl 65w=500w puts off around 6000-8000 lumens for the mother.

No I understood all of that and it makes sense except I don't think I would clone a clone. That part doesn't make sense to me as far as basic biology.
I'm only just starting this indoor grow so I don't even have a mother plant BUT I am considering taking a couple of good mother plants and cloning them just for the basic curiosity of it all. It looks like a challenge that i would be up for and sounds very interesting. I love getting all these ideas from all of you.

Thats what i originally wanted but I like the idea of it converting from a MH to a hps. Thats a bonus!

Back to cloning from a clone- If you think about it, it is what all the distributors do. You can go and buy a dub and a few clones, well all the clones that they sell and clones from clones.
Here is a few pic of mine and yes after you do this over and over again you will get some issues with the clones, you will see trates of over clonning-
These are the same plants and they are from a clone bank- cloned from a clone
