As many times as I hear this, I simply, for some reason (maybe I am retarded), cannot understand it..

You're raped, you're a victim, you feel shame....... so you let your attacker go free? What. The. Fuck?

I am assaulted. I'm a victim, I feel shame, why in the fucking fuck would I ever tell the detective asking me questions about it "oh no officer, it was fine, it wasn't a big deal, he didn't mean it..." WHAT THE FUCK?

You're assaulted, raped, the victim of a hit and run, you fucking report it, word for word, exactly what happened.

Why this bullshit? Why does it exist?
frauds scams and cons suffer a similar under-reporting due to shame. the victim often feels that they were dumbass suckers and deserved to get took.

many women fear the additional stigma of facing their attacker in court, as they are often portrayed as "asking for it" and get victimized all over again.

whatcha gonna do?

In your opinion, what do you think are the main factors holding assimilation into the culture back with African Americans?
I have been called a Bigot and a racist by some democratic liberals on this site and I let it go in one ear and right out the other ear....I have first hand experience with a black man and he seems to be assimilated just fine, he is my son in law...Thats right my daughter is married to a black man and he is no different than anybody else in my family..He comes from a christian family in south carolina and has a loving mother and father...He is a very respectable man and anyone would think so that meets him...And then I have watched that pawn shop in detriot that is on TV and there could be a problem there..I don't think that show does black people any justice...The problem could be found in that town maybe, I am not going there..

What "stigmas of being a victim" are you talking about?

This is something I'm pretty unfamiliar with, and from where I sit, I find it difficult to understand.

I realize there are false rape accusations, and the fallout from something like that would probably, righteously, be pretty harsh.

But enough to stifle actual rape accusations? That's what I have a hard time believing..

Again, by my count, for the 3rd time on this site, why would anyone hide something like that? In our society, rape is taken very seriously, to the extent even false rape accusations ruins peoples lives. If someone is raped, it is a very good chance they'll receive justice, to hide it is a monumental mistake on their part, preconceived taboos or not.
Dang.

Apparently people were right about you. It always come back to your fascination with rape.

Detroit is one of the worst ghettoes in the country. Look up the crime rates. The majority of the city is falling down and the people can get away with anything because the police force sucks.

In NC one of our Friday night buddies were black. I feel no shame saying we got drunk and played D&D. He was one f the nicest guys I ever met.

My best friend in high school was a gay black guy. He moved to Detroit and had some horror stories to tell. I always wonder what happened to him. Last time we talked he was having trouble with people in his neighborhood. Then it was like he disappeared. Nobody heard from him.

It looks like a mess. There are a lot of empty homes there that look like they were abandoned,. It reminds me of new orleans a day after katrina..

Besides the obv corruption of the city (at one time the school board super had a private chauffer making 100k a year), over 80% of the police budget goes to legacy costs (pensions, healthcare to retired). That's just unsustainable.

You probably don't understand quantum theory either, but you accept it.

Why do captives often begin feel compassion for their captors?

Why do women who get domestically assaulted refuse to turn their boyfriends/husbands in or refuse to leave?

You've already been told ten thousand times, by ten thousand people. If you don't get it by now it's one of three things: You completely lack the empathy required to understand how the victims of rape feel; you can understand how they feel but don't care; or you can't mentally process what you're being told.

Tell ya what, go out get raped and tell us how you feel. I'm sure you'd love to talk about it online, and go to court, and have the defense lawyer accuse you of 'asking for it'. Definitely asking you all kinds of terrible questions about what happened and the exact details. It's an intimate setting really, you, the lawyers, bunch of cops, random people, stenographers recording what you say...

Seriously man, what the fuck is wrong with you? How can you be so insensitive?

This is not fucking rocket science.

The thread may have been started around the time RIU got hacked. A lot of threads were lost as well as many posts. A good 2 months(I think, not fully sure of that) of threads were gone.

I live in a majority black city in Louisiana and work with and deal with only blacks. I like to think I know them pretty well. The main problem, in my opinion, is absent fathers. There have been studies which show a very real link between inmates and absent fathers/broken homes. I've also seen a statistic that said 7 out of 10 black children grow up without a father. In my experience, it's rare to find a 25 year old black woman without a kid. Even more rare to find a 25 year old black woman with a kid and married to the father. The most common scenario is 25 with 2-4 kids from multiple fathers. The root causes of all this, I'm not sure. It's definitely passed down behavior (men not learning to be real men and such), but I'm sure it stems from the despair they faced after slavery was abolished. They were segregated into extreme poverty and when that happens morality often takes a back seat. But I don't think blacks are completely free of fault, because they still refuse to face this issue head on. Bill Cosby, one of the most respected within the community, attempted to a few years back by challenging black people to look inward at their broken family structure; He was labeled an "Uncle Tom" as a result. I think blacks and Jews are very similar in that they've both had tough pasts and as a result have developed an extreme victim's mentality to the point they refuse to accept any responsibility. Consider the crimes being committed daily by Jews against Palestinians and their continued refusal to accept responsibility. Blacks have a near identical mentality to this.

Now that is a reasonable response without any racism.

I had an absent father and mother, too. Not once did I have the urge to say fo shizzle, get me some hoes and tricks, or shoot someone then eat a sandwich as they bled to death. My step father beat me worse than Kunta Kinte. Your post is so full of fail. Almost as much fail as this black kid hussling candy. If I didn't buy any, it was my fault once he did drugs and joined a gang! That's what he actually told me when I said, no. :dunce:

Did you have parental figures? Are you black? Did you live in the city?
