This is something I'm pretty unfamiliar with, and from where I sit, I find it difficult to understand.
I realize there are false rape accusations, and the fallout from something like that would probably, righteously, be pretty harsh.
But enough to stifle actual rape accusations? That's what I have a hard time believing..
Again, by my count, for the 3rd time on this site, why would anyone hide something like that? In our society, rape is taken very seriously, to the extent even false rape accusations ruins peoples lives. If someone is raped, it is a very good chance they'll receive justice, to hide it is a monumental mistake on their part, preconceived taboos or not.

Alot of rape victims primarily get that "spoiled goods" feeling about themselves and coupled with trauma and depression it can be a very confusing time.
Plus they probably just want the memory to go away.
