Why hydro?

Start at 23:00. Seems you don't know what you're talking about.

LMAO EVEN HARDER!!!!

"In reality, the soil on Mars actually does have the nutrients plants would need to survive on Mars! There may not be the right amount of nutrients depending on where astronauts land on the Red Planet, so fertilizers may need to be added to the soil. The perchlorates in the soil would be leached out and separated from the water. "

Again, the initial comment I replied to made the claim that I should know that any humans on Mars would be growing plants in hydroponic mediums, not the actual Martian soil. My NASA link proves that's not necessarily the case, and that NASA is looking into growing in the soil itself by rinsing out the perchlorates first and adding fertilizers.

So the claim that any growing on Mars would be entirely hydroponic and not growing in Martian soil is not necessarily true. Your video interview doesn't disprove that.

I'll just point to my NASA article again:

You're right. I'm just fucking with you. Relax.
But I'm right too. It's gonna be a while before there's actual Martian soil that can be grown in, and it's going to be a long while after that before cannabis is grown in it. Happy New Year. :bigjoint:

Maybe on Mars you'd naturally go to hydro first, because accessing water is the absolute first thing. Then you run a planetary dtw hydro system and take the waste water to amend the Martian soil before you grow in the ground.
They discovered water in the giant canyon on Mars recently

Mars doesn't really have a soil. Soil needs life and organic matter. I don't believe there's a lot of either, but it'll definitely be rich in mineral nutrient. We'll need to bring some peat and worms for castings and composting.

So will "about a pound" be accurate on Mars since it has less gravity than Earth? it'll be more like a third of a pound i think?

More Stealth
Less carrying heavy stuff around
Easier Disposal
You just pay for water not for growing medium after first purchase of clay pebbles or similar product that is washable.
