Why I won't be buying a Mars or Galaxy LED

This is a good video that compares popular LED lights (Cheapies)... 300 Umols won't make the cut for me...

No, it's not a good video. It is all lies, every word he's saying, lies. Gee, how can you tell, Karma? A Platinum LED light with epistar/cheap diodes ain't pumping out 1000 par. No way, no how, nada. A piss poor excuse for propaganda meant to confuse, and swindle, the uneducated masses. Don't fall for it people. Platinum LED is shit, always has been, always will be.

I currently run 4 ViparSpectra 300W equivalent (I think like 125W actual draw) units in my Flower tent and 2 in my Veg closest. I have been very satisfied with all my results for $90 per light. Not much excess heat, producing a great looking crop, cheap up front and monthly. Not saying there are not better options out there obviously there are but this is what I use and it has been doing well.

now i have read an article that those platinum led are total junk . so is this video legit or not ? i think it is , we need a neutral test lab to test all the led for us .

See what too much hype does! Smart man just forks out the cash for some crees or a growmau kit maybe bridgelux or one or two others.

Ive seen mars platinum and cobs at work. One thing in mind is cost and quality. for a personal closet a 200 to 400 dollar led will give you some good results with a requirement of being a descent grower. If your a hobbyist with some cash buy some cob builds or build your own.

Ay carumba... In my 2x2 x 4 tent I have 4 26w cfl and a 75 true watt apollo LED... I'm in veg so this is sufficient light for the space.

I popped in my 150 HPS in place of the LED and temps are off the charts. about 10 degrees above ambient. They were 4 degrees above ambient. Even with my 180 cfm fan on full it's still 82 in there... Not terrible, but not great.

Does anyone have a PARW or Umol test of the mars lights?

Edit... Stupid me.. I just did what I call the Better Crocker Easy Bake Oven.. My vent was disconnected to the other room so the room the light is in just heated up to 79... Hot air in, hot air out...

I still wish LED shopping was easier :) I've looked at every piece of crap LED on the market tonight and in the back of my head I know my 150 hps is better than most of them..
