You are still breaking federal law by growing it in the first place. As for everyone else not growing on the same budget, not everyone has a greenhouse made out of sticks found on the ground. Some people grow indoors where they PAY for lights, electricity etc...

for a 4 month indoor grow power and nutes only cost me 400.50 buck.. if thats going to call for reimbursements then you need not to grow as you can't afford to. and if you are growing for others then they need to bring you supply's not money

I've traded meds for nutes, bulbs, gift certificates, and even money orders filled out to PG&E! To grow for more (Most do) is profiteering, which is legal for all, sans the cannabis farmer.

all businesses are in it to make money why would MMJ businesses be any different. I agree they are currently screwy and walking on the line when it comes to legality. but they are not going to get the program sacked. if anything they will draw attention to the fact that we need a better system in place, one that licenses and regulates MMJ services, and allows them to function as a legitimate business. as long as their is a demand for MMJ, and no legal market, these shady establishments will exist.

we live in a capitalist world for a reason. and no other service on the planet is expected to operate for free.

i agree tax recreational users, but not medical. and hopefully insurance will someday help cover the costs, but services cant function without making money, even non-profits try to raise more money then they spend to try to ensure they can always pay salaries and operating expenses. and by allowing MMJ buisnesses to make a profit and build up capital, they can continue to expand there service, and incur the necessary operating costs to keep quality standards up. buisnesses need money to invest in higher quality services, to expand retail locations, they need "rainy day funds", they need money to cover salaries and overhead expenses, pay rent, pay utillities, etc. there are alot more costs involved besides the cost of the cannabis.

actually most NPO's are a scam. take UNICEF for example. only 4% of the money goes towards "the cause", and yet the head of the program has a 1.6 million dollar sallary + benefits.

and profit does alot more than help the owner buy a new car. Again profit is essential to running a business. Do some reading about business and the importance of capital. and again even non-profits try to raise more than they spend through endowment funds and such.

non-profits can be corrupt and evil. and for-profits can be great and provide quality service. both can be good and both can be bad it depends on who's running it and how their running it. i wish people wouldn't get so caught up in the "profit" aspect of things.

Not for profit groups may not make money but that doe not preclude the owners from having paid business trips (vacations), company vehicles, paid meals etc.

I appreciate the enthusiasm. I'm abreast on business practice, thanks. Obviously the proprietor has a lot to do with how the business operates. I wonder what the 1st responsibility is of an NPO? And a for profit business? A for profit business has several responsibilities, the first being profit. All decisions must be made with the investors in mind. If you want a for profit business and want to be Robin Hood, you better have a very giving board, or a huge pocket. NPO's can take advantage of volunteers, donations, Etc. As for profit being essential for a business, no. Overhead costs are recovered, or you have a loss. If you're breaking even, your rent, utilities, Etc are payed. Profit is profit. Either your putting your money back into the business or your not.
