yes they will. get horticulture grade bug bombs and start with low concentrations then work up

no it wont hurt your plants. pyrethrin is the active ingredient in raid bombs... pyrethrin is found naturally on chrysanthemums and is an effective insecticide (not herbicide). it has a half life of 2 hours... and in 5 half life cycles it will pretty much be gone from your plants.
