World Of Hempy

I boughtt some 3/4" PVC 3-way fittings to make the corners of a SCROG-like frame but want to make it instead for using up higher to support the plants when they get older. Only worry I have is the string being close to the lights when the plants are young (lights are lower). Anybody think the string would catch fire? Maybe I could get some thick monofilament but it might loosen with lamp heat. Hog wire comes to mind too.

Jela, use 3 way fittings, make the scrog and screen as normal, the use the too holes to add additional pipes and string as needed...PVC is cheap, I jut casters under mt scrog, so it rolls...easier to move then..

I'm sure the string would be fine it would have to be pretty fucking hot to get it to combustion temperatures.

Nice buds hydro

I have a question, I had a feminized Cheese plant, I had a hermie in the room and she got seeds, which makes me happy...it's my favorite smoke right now.

Will the seeds create all female plants? or will I have to sex them as normal?

I have 7 seeds right now and I'm thinking that might be my next grow, and to make one a clone mother...

Wow that just got me thinking. I got this "special" danish strain from a old hippie at christiania, about 50 seeds. Ive popped about 12 and everytime they turn out beautifull damn hermies. So i kill em´. But what if?! Balls aside it could be a great smoke. Wah im high. Cant risk pollinating everything else.
I have always been told that hermies make for a low percentage of thc?!
Genetics wise the hermie seeds should also be hermie. Right? lol

jela, ever think of hemp string? Higher burn temp than most things i believe
also wanted to mention I did my first chop using the 3L's the other day. Not impressed with fatness/rootball so I think i will need to scrap the 3L idea. I have the idea of using spinout inside the hempys to prune the roots in, but want to make sure this stuff isn't toxic first. anyone who has had any experience with this stuff please chime in
i guess its a copper ion paint that stops roots from getting within 1/4" of it, people claim that it doesn't effect smoke and to not worry about it although the company says "not for use on fruit bearing trees" what do ya'll think?
I have only been drying 3 days or so , it was under a 400w hps and 1 week of veg after clone, ill report the final weight when done

Nizza u use clones or seeds? We were discussing this the other day, they may have made a difference...they hold roots differently

If the mother has the trait of herming easily, it can be passed on to the next gen, yeah. Properly feminized seeds should be made using colloidal silver, to convert females who don't have that trait.

You are right those buds were harvested about 5-7 days premature because i was sick of being weedless, its still a knock out stone though i cant imagine what it would be like if i had let her finish, i am currently fighting the urge to harvest this veneno I'm on day 62/65 and have very very few amber trichromes almost all the rest look to be cloudy though, and still not one amber pistil in sight, i am trying not to be impatient but i really want to get to work on converting this flowering room into a veg/flowering room...
No worries. That is what "taster buds" are for. :0)

I had to pull my last crop at just before 8 weeks, when I am sure that
two more would have rocked, but I have a gnat infestation in the process
of exploding.

My setup is much stronger this grow.

Onward and upward,

JD

Nizza Seeds have taproots and they seek the res, where clones just have roots no taproot, so they react differently growing...

The mother cheese was not a hermie, but another plant is that room hermied and I must have missed it, cause a few got seeds in the room

So i'm not even sure the seeds are viable? I think she was an auto?

Nizza, sorry to hear about the 3L. I would have thought that container shape to be conducive to the hempy methodology. If I remember right, Watt's said it would have issues due to the cone in the bottom. He's a real "smart feller" sometimes. That Spinout looks interseting..found this link by Uncle Ben. https://www.icmag.com/modules/Tutorials/GrowthCont/1321.htm

Took down the "Crazy Miss Hyde" today. Here's the upper part of the plant. I sure wish the colas would have filled out better but I took the risk of growing two different strains. This one raced the lights requiring massive supercropping at week 3&4, (note the knuckles in the stems at each cola base). Since it towered above the other plant it only received the light of the LED on it's side of the tent. Nugs are heavy and tight though and should bring 3.5 oz easily.
