Worried about the cold - what to do!

I'm growing in a tent in the garage, but the temperatures are dropping radically. With the lights on, and a small heater, the temp inside the tent is ranging between 55 - 60 degrees, however I'm concerned about what will happen when the lights go off. The temperature in the garage is probably around 40. Bringing the plants inside is not a great option for me, for a variety of reasons.
The plants were flipped to 12/12 about a week ago. I'm curious what the effect would be if I left the lights on 24 hours for a day or 2. Or will they be ok if the temps drop below 50 but above freezing? What do y'all think?
TIA

They will go dormant if the temp is that cold
I wldnt change the light cycle depending on the strain you cld cause it to hermie the lights at 24 will send it back into veg even if jst a cpl days.

Can you put a heater in the tent to keep the temps up. They won’t grow hardly at those temps.

Would putting it back in veg for a couple of days really hurt anything? They are just now starting to show sex.

If your going to change it let it stay at 24 hrs til it starts warming up. I wouldn’t change it for a few days. Plus it takes a few weeks for the hormones to change back to veg mode.

Could you clarify "don't change it for a few days"?

Simply meaning if your gonna change the light don’t do it for a few days. Instead let it reveg until the temps get warmer. Depending though on your location that can be some time. So either add a heater (what I would do) or reveg until further notice.

I've got a heater in there and the temps should be high enough in a couple of days, so my plan right now is to leave the lights on for 24 hours for 2 days and then go back to 12/12. Does that sound right?

Why keep the lights at 24hrs for two days? If you have a heater in there and the temps are still dropping that low I would move it inside or let it veg for another month or two.

Because in 2 days the temps outside go back to the 60s, which means the tent temps will be in the 70 - 75 range. The plants have been vegging for 6 weeks and are quite tall already; there won't be room for them to veg another month. I can't move the plants inside because there will be people in the house tomorrow that I don't want to know about the plants. Will this quick flipping back and forth do damage?
