nah it doesnt defeat anything it would just give a 5 gal sized airpot a sturdy case and a handlei dunno, but it seems like it would defeat the purpose of it being an air pot.. why not just plant in the 5gallon bucket to start with?
these are made of cloth?
Not trying to be a smart ass but how is that thing inserted into paint bucket air tight? I am imagining that with that in a 5gal bucket and it seems like it would be a whole lot more air than just in the bucket right? Or is it that tight to where there is no breathing room? Never used one is why I'm askingno there made of plastic those are the airpots i use and if you remove the blue screws the pot will unravel. IMO you dont want to put the air pot into a bucket the whole point of the air pot is to let air into the root system though the little holes in the side if you put the pot into a bucket you would restrict the airflow to the holes in the side. why do want to put them into a bucket? the pots are durable enough to handle already its pointless to put them in a bucket, you might aswell just use a bucket if you are going to that
Yah I thought that too, Its not like you stick that in and your suddenly in a vacum. I mean if you had to hit it in with a hammer or something ok haha. but my guess is even with some holes blocked from the pot it is still a way more amount than you would normally have in just a pot. Cool might have to try this for next growYes it can be done ...I do it ... and it works well
