Piper was an extremely intelligent, quick-witted guy who is one of the all-time great talkers in pro-wrestling...but...just my opinion...the cocaine took his interviews to another level!

Hahaha Missing Link was awesome! That's how I rock my hair same as the Link! Jk bro jk...

They got AWA and UWF on Espn Classics right now and there ain't much "classic" in either of them! Don't get me wrong, AWA had their glory days but it sure as fuck wasn't in 1990 right before they went outta business!
I grew up in Minneapolis and have been to a couple AWA matches, way back in the day. A lot of
the guys who made it big in the WWF came from the AWA. Mean Gene Okerlund came from the AWA, also.

Yup, Vince Jr. raided all the territories of their top talent when he devised his plan to take over the entire wrestling world...don't forget the biggest score, Hulk Hogan. Hulkamania started in the AWA. Verne Gagne trained more future stars than almost anyone.

Kamala was one of Jerry Lawler's gimmicks that he came up with in his Memphis territory and it was one of his better ones.

I remember my grandpa bought me n' my bro and my cuz some Hulkamania weights and headbands for us for christmas when we were like 5 and 6...we were Hulkamaniacs...till Warrior showed up haha...

I remember a time when I thought Jesse Ventura was pretty cool. LOL!
Jesse was pretty cool in the AWA days when he teamed up with Adrian Adonis as the East-West Connection. But then, anybody who beat up Verne's son Greg Gagne was pretty cool in my books!

Greg Gagne was a horrible wrestler! You think he would have tried harder considering his legendary father.

As a kid, I was a huge "mark" for any wrestler with face paint, long tights, and a crazy haircut. Ultimate Warrior, Road Warriors, Powers of Pain, even Sting. I usually stuck with the bad guys cause they were always way cooler!

And all their imitators, Warlord and Barbarian the Powers of Pain and the worst rip-offs of all Ax and Smash of Demolition.

I have no beefs with "Jumpin" Jim Brunzell, he went on to be one of the "Killer Bees" in WWF, but, Greg Gagne was absolutely horrible! Did he have some kinda allergy to lifting weights? Even a straight-up "white meat babyface" needs to have a little bit of edge to him like he could kick some ass when needed... Who's ass was Greg ever gonna kick?

Greg Gagne is the 80's version of a guy like the Miz in 2013. It's just TOO unbelievable that he could whup anybody's ass! I asked my friends 8 year old kid what he thought of Miz, the lil' guy just shrugged. I asked him what he thought would happen to the Miz if me and the kids dad got ahold of Miz at the bar? The kid laughed cause he knew how bad we'd fuck the Miz up!

I loved wrestling in the old days too when the road warriors were around and ultimate warrior. I love wrestling because of the undertaker though. Undertaker vs yokozuno in the casket match was the best when the undertaker rose out of the casket! I have never been to a live wrestling match either I hope you have fun demon!

Yeah vince had a vision of his character. Vince said he always wanted a texas outlaw looking character and Mark Callaway fit the roll perfect. I have watched a bunch of shoot interviews lol

Never understood wrestling. Bunch of beefed up, half naked men fake fighting? Even as a kid I thought it was incredibly homoerotic.
