xenon lights

hello can i use xenon lights to grow, someone told me it will Work real good

sounds like a great idea, please take pictures along the way, we are behind you 100%

the hps for cars ? you need to sit back and read some info about lighting . you could use a street lamp as well but your plants will not grow .

Kinddiesel is right. They are designed to broadcast only one spectrum of light where as household lights like fluoresce,hps,mh broadcast a wider yet still narrow light spectrum within your plants needs. You can't grow them under green light cause the spectrum is wrong. Try a higher kelvin temp. I've tried 14k halides that are three times bluer than the sun but there was still a "rainbow" light spectrum. You've got to try it if you have a large space.

Xenon is like a incandescent car bulb just uses xenon gas in side and has a blue tinted glass... Right? Then there are HID kits for cars that are MH bulbs. I don't think the xenon bulbs take a ballast, correct? I'm not a car 'pro' but I'm pretty sure you are thinking of the HID kits... Am I right?

edit: the xenon lights I'm thinking of will not grow a plant up to standards, much like a incandescent. Now I have seen someone grow with car hid kit. It's a really small MH bulb. But you need like 3 of those kits, that's 6 bulbs. If you can get em cheap enough then give it a go and post pics along the way. But if you can't, you would be better off buying a 400w hps/mh off amazon for 140

Xenon lights just aint gonna get the job done. Be better off with fluorescent.

its great light giving and i am very much impressed with it
