Yet Another Noob's First Grow

On a different thread people are telling me everything from over watering to the Fox Farm soil itself. So I guess I'm starting over? Lol this is too much. The time I used miracle gro and tap water there wasn't a problem at all. I eventually gave those plants away.

So with the perlite, what's the ideal perlite to soil ratio? I'm assuming 50/50 is too much. And do you guys suggest getting the light warrior soil for the beginning? Kinda hoping I don't need more soil lol

i used FF happy frog on my more recent seedlings and it worked out great! prior to that i used FF ocean forest and i got slight nute burn. from my understanding though.. light warrior is the best for seedlings when it comes to Fox Farm products. my best tip so far is go easy on the watering. better to underwater than over water.

and trust me..... u wont stop buying things. i was just going to use cfls.... then i got into led for veg.... now i have a 600w hps .... and now there is a Carbon filter and inline fan coming... THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU NEED OR WANT

Ok so I got my 4 way soil tester today (pretty fast huh?) and here are the results:

Light: about 7000 lumens per plant
Ph: a little under 7
Moisture: still a 3 out of 4 despite me not watering for about 4 days
Fertility: very little (which is good correct?)

So I'm guessing the culprit is over watering... So if I let the plants dry out and then water them moderately will they fully recover or am I risking herms? My gut is telling me to start over.

keep air moving over them. when they dry out, water. use the pot-lift method. even keep a pot with just soil in it for reference.

Well I think I'm just going to rip them out. Don't want to waste any more electricity on them if their outcome isn't guaranteed. I have some Dinafem Autoflowers I think I'll try next.
