Your Opinion...Is this Ready?

There is not a single person who can tell you if its ready or not without knowing the strain and being familiar with your pheno. I've had strains where the hairs were 100% white and when i looked under a scope they were already 40% amber trichs! I've also had strains where the majority of trichs were clear when most of the hairs had turned orange. Get yourself a little handheld microscope!

I'm not sure what you are refering to kage, but I do agree with what you described. Sounds like you may have viewed a very old thread of mine. I'm on my second grow for this year and that's the pictures I posted a few replies back on this very thread. I do use a microscope camera, as well as simple hand help loupes. Thanks for stoping by. Peace

Here are some pictures from the other day of a Blue Mistic. The pictures could be a nice reference to new growers. As you can see in pic 1, I cut only the top section of the center cola. Everything below that center cola needs a little more time. You can see in pic 2 and 3 where I cut the cola. Of course, before I cut that cola off, I put my scope/camera on the cola to verify where I would be cutting. You can see from pic 4, that section was ready for my taste. Pic 5 is the cola not weighed yet, but probably 8-10 oz. Last pic is some of the nutes I used. Peace

Are you using a tripod how do you keep your hands steady. The button you push to take a pic is small and every time i try to use it i get a blurry image because the camera moved:wall:

Yes dlf...I am using a tripod with a microphone clip on the end. I have the camera connected to the clip. The camera is kept very stationary, but you have to keep your index finger on the button and be ready. I'll get a picture of the camera setup if you like...just let me know. Peace

Looks like you are figuring out that scope/camera. As you know now, it's hard enough to drill down at the 30x level without a very steady hand (lol). You need to pick a specific location on a particular bud and drill that very one at 30x every time. I usually pick a higher location on the plant. Let me know if you have any questions on the camera dude.

The tents are looking real good and I'll be getting some seeds here anytime now. My outside girls are super heavy, but I spoted a male that I had suspected, since that plant was growing tall and spindly as I see males comparitively. I'm digging him up (an Airee) and moving him back into the breeding tent into a container. Unfortunately, I have to be very careful (put him totally into a sealed bag) not to let his pollen get into the flower tent when he goes by, which would be a disaster on some beautiful girls (Bubblegum, Airee, Sour Diesel x Skunk). Why waste a good healthy male when you can benefit from what he is producing. I'll try and get some picks later. Peace
