Haha I knew you would cave in and decide to chuck some outside aussie  outdoors is way better. I wouldn't grow indoors if I had land to grow on.

Thanks cooper, the Panamas are pretty thick now. They get more wind than the malawis. The fly spray seemed to work.
any updates?

hey letstrip, my broken 1 not looking good at all, tied it to a waratah but I honestly thing im going to lose the top half, when I went back that night it was all wilted the stalk was worse then I thought was broken 3/4 of the way through so very little left to support 4 ft of plant. the botton 6-8 laterals may be all I get left with ive taken cuttings and going to CS them and grow it again next year as its an insane grower, its samsaras love potion, I took a tape with me when I staked it and its just a tad bit under 7.5 foot tall so will be a bummer if I lose most of it. my wwxbb are 6.5foot and are both showing signs of flowering, the lower growth has small buds forming and the upper is just starting.

Yeah mate, what brand of neem are you using? mines the oakdale organics one and has all the bio safety stuff in it so its pretty safe. I think Chronikool is right, my plants are looking a lot greener after that last spray. I drenched my plants in neem today and fly sprayed all the bugs off the stems - so many breeding and living at the bottom of the plants that I had to do something about it, the malawis have a bit more pest resistance than the panamas, bro you should of seen how many bugs flying away when I was spraying the bottom of the plants. Take some odourless flyspray next time if there's heaps of bugs, they instantly fly away and if you neem after the flyspray less come back.

How tall is your plant now? most of mine are 5ft or just under. still 3 weeks left and they've only been vegging for a month and a half, I tipped the Panamas though to bush them out and keep the height down - sativas grow hard out in height during flower.

I've been liking this weather up here, subtropical as ever. nice cool summer with 25 degree days, I reckon 23-25 are the best temps for vegging here in BOP. perfect day today(25), we're not getting night time temps below 13 - around 14-18 on average. any temps below 9 or 10 start to slow the plant down I reckon.

Yeah well most of the plants will go into late april or early may depending on the weather, hopefully they die before the plants finish.
we still only get 10-13 night temps in april though so not really that cold then.

Yeah it sucks that the more subtropical parts of NZ get lots of those passion fruit hoppers, I remember Auckland had heaps too.
Im using walleys neem bro it was recommended byChronikool and its doing a primo job so far  I think they're based in Palmerston north. They sell neem granules aswell that you can mix into the dirt to stop root insects like root aphids and stuff but tipping the left over neem into the soil probably works just as good. The neem is sticky as though its clogging up my spray bottle lol Sounds like you had heaps of bugs man hows it going surely that fly spray and neem gave them a good kick up the ass, it sounds like you had heaps? Ive got almost no bugs on my plant at the moment other than the odd friendly dragon fly and a little spider or two sunbathing on the fan leaves. I think my location is good (bug wise) because it has almost a little muddy watery motte a few meters around it. And a willow swap isnt overly appetizing lol

My plants just over 5ft now so it shouldn't be overly long before it hits the 6ft mark. Untopped i reckon it would easily be 7 - 8 ft by now. Sounds like your getting awesome weather up your way mate wish we had overnight temps like yours although that makes it a bitch to sleep in  You guys are probably used to it though. Its been good down here got to 27 - 28 today and heading for 26 tomorrow with some good days lined up and a low of 13 tonight. Gonna get some low as night temps soon though around 7 or 8 for a couple of days I guess the indicas would fear the cold better.

Thats crazy that you get those 10 - 13 night temps in april bro because down here we get southerlies coming straight up from the north island at that time and dammmmmn they can be freezing! Anyway my plants looking algood Ill chuck some pictures up on Monday when I go feed it.

Damn man that sucks. Hope she aint completely dead and you still get some bud of her. I used a stick and rubber for support and electrical tape and took the tape of after a couple of days and it was algood but I think your break was alot worse. Chuck some pictures up it will be interesting to see everything

Nice grow guys, fellow kiwi here. Just thought id chime in here noticed a few of you guys are mentioning bugs/aphids. I think most of you guys are referring to the passionvine hopper, in its nymph form (the white fluffy aphid looking mongrels). Once it becomes mature it turns into the little black moths that suck sap from the stalks and undersides of the leaves. They leave honeydew which is a black mould which also attracts more passionvine hoppers and weakens the plant, and probably increases risk of mould too id imagine.

Neem works well for them, just make sure not to do it in intense sunlight, and make sure to cover undersides and top sides of leaves and all stalks. Garlic/dish soap is a good organic alternative along with a bit of neem, after a few sprays they generally go.

Also passionvine hoppers are in Australia so any aussie growers should beware of them. Best to hit them while they are nymphs before they mature into adults.

Stay safe everyone, outgrow our rubbish government

Yeah any organic neem is good, bio degradable and so on. The Malawis have been ok for bugs but still had a few at the bottom. The Panamas had quite a few but not enough to worry about and I'm hitting them hard with neem and fly spray in their 'nymph' form like awaken said, nothing worse than hundreds of passion vine hoppers crawling up the stems sucking the life out of your plant.
maybe the bugs don't like it down there so much? get pretty cold down there bro, metservice reckons 6 degree overnight temp tomorrow. definitely not january weather aye?.

Yeah my plants are around 5 ft but they are gonna get massive with 3 months or more of growing left, sativas grow crazily in flower. should have plants taller than me by the end of the month.
The weather has been good up here, real hot over the last couple of days. the forecast is 12-14 overnight lows, that's pretty low for january in tga - we're usually 15-17 around this time of the year.

It does get pretty darn cold down those ways, anywhere past taupo don't have 'mild' winters like us.
my dad reckoned people finished in mid april at the latest, by the looks of your temps compared to taupo I'd say late april for you guys - enough time to grow a decent sativa.
I used to live up in the Kaimais and there's no way you can grow through may lol, freezing up there compared to welcome bay.

Cooper12 - yes! I've been eyeing up that 2 pounder for ages but haven't seen enough grow or reports about it, looks indica dominant but it's meant to be sativa?
http://www.zamnesia.com/kiwi-seeds/2149-2-pounder-feminized.html the description for you aussie. fark you have dome nice plants bro, I don't know how you have plant fully into flower like that Thc Bomb! crazy man that looks ages into flower. What other strains do you have growing? I don't know about you but I reckon BOP produces some healthy looking
plants, love the climate up here. Definitely keep us updated on that 2 pounder bro, so keen to see some old school NZ sativas. Rays choice from Kiwi Seeds looks nice too.

awaken - Thanks mate, I notice less bugs everytime I spray with neem. Seems to be a real bad problem up in the upper north island, like every year there's heaps.

Indoor Malawi at 8-9 weeks of 12/12 which is not a recommended light cycle for a sativa like this.

Hazey buds anyone?

yeah that 2 pounder i would be willing to bet is a big heavy afghani crossed to a skunk or something like that. similar to big bud or critical i would bet. looks a lot more afghani dom than critical though which is fairly sativa dom. maybe she will swing around in flower and show off her sativa side. im interested to see what she does in bloom.

below is pheno 1

she has a real earthy Kush smell with a hint of fuel and lemons. shes a possible keeper.

below this are shots from the #2 pheno. this one is locked in as a keeper already. she is a little finicky and harder to keep happy so i think i could get more from her yield wise if i did a dedicated run but lower yield or not this plant is going to be certified AOD (Aussie Original Dank) the smell is like no other i have ever encountered. it has to be smelled to be understood or believed. the buds are tight OG dom nugs with heavy resin and honestly i cant wait to dig into this one

Was it an auto flower?, yeah apparently it was acclimatised to NZ so that's where the pest and mold resistance will be handy. Maybe just do an open pollination with the 2 pounder to see all the phenos and pick out the best one to clone, is there any variation with the 3 other plants that aren't male? skinnier phenos?. The frisian might be good for breeding because of the short flower time.

What ppm is the colloidal silver?.

Nice aussie, getting real frosty and looks like an og for sure.
how long left? 3.5weeks?.
