I believe that would qualify as an open container violation.
When I lived in Louisiana some years back I was told by Terribonne parish LEO that a damn beer bottle cap constituted an open container.
I live in Louisiana and one day I took my kids to the park. The trash cans were full and there was a lot of trash on the ground so being the good guy that I am I cleaned it up using some bags I had in my truck. The trash consisted of beer cans( dirty ones, obviously been on the ground for a while), pizza boxes and random shit. I picked up 3-4 bags of trash and put them in the bed of my truck. About 10 minutes later a cop rolled up just to check things out, parked next to my truck and when he got out he seen those bags in my truck with the beer cans and other trash in them. We were the only people there so he knew it was my vehicle. That sorry bastard gave me a field sobriety test in front of my kids even though I was not driving at the time. Of course I passed, I was having a day out with my kids. The SOB then write me a ticket for open container for the trash that had beer cans in it and made me take it out and put it on the ground next to the overflowing trash cans.
I beat it in court when i was allowed to explain what really happened.

Abuse of power? IDK. Asshole. Yes.
There is no way i would do something to bring attention to myself like these guys did on that video. It's hard enough when your just trying to do what's right. IMO these guys deserved to be effed with even though they technically weren't breaking the law.

I like these guys, honestly. They were breaking no laws, only exploiting shitty cops. That is something I can appreciate. They're clearly not THAT stupid, otherwise they probably would have put some weed in that bowl ;3

I myself wouldn't provoke a cop since most are trigger happy, but I find it funny that no matter what type of smoke shop you walk in to it says that these pieces are used for tobacco.

There are a few things wrong with how these cops reacted.
1. You know damn well if they were hitting weed out that bong they would smell it.
2. There was no need in using force.
3. The assault at the end where he was pushed should have gotten that cop arrested.

Yea, cause it automatically makes it right to attack first and ask questions later..

(Officer)He has a bong, get him....Get down on the ground.... POW POW POW...
Sniff sniff... oops... Damn I need a paid vacation for murdering an innocent civilian.
Whoops.

Well, I hope you are never driving towards the boarder with your hands at 10 and 2 like they are supposed to be, cause that is suspicious that you are smuggling drugs.

I also hope that if a cop sees you and thinks that you fit the description of a murder and you have a cellphone in your hand you don't get shot for it.

These are the people you are taking up for.
Good job.

Breaking the law would be poking the bear.

the first two cops were fine...... he saw the cop and tried to be elusive... what did you expect the cop to do... not approach him to investigate.... at that point the cop has every right to ask him to stop and to put the bong down to investigate what he is smoking.... when they realised it was tobacco they let him go...... the last cop was a dick but again... he saw the cop and tried to evade him... what cop wouldnt act upon that...

I'm not saying that, but when you are using a device that is said to be a tobacco device with no weed smell and force was applied is wrong.

There was no need for any of those cops to put their hands on that dude, None.

Cops use smell as probable cause, but yet there was no weed smell no where near them.
The bases of the video was to show how cops over react to things. Even if he was smoking weed, it isn't like he was bothering anyone and he definitely wasn't being violent so there was no need for them to use force.

Not all of them were violent, like the black cop was like why would you even do it and was laughing at them for it. That is how you handle it, not the way the others did and especially not how that woman needed to flex her powers and yank it from his hand.

I bet the violent cops are the ones that go home and get shit faced drunk and beat their wives.

Well yeah, he's supposed to investigate. That's not what I consider being bitten by the bear.

So if I look suspicious, yet am doing nothing illegal, and a cop assaults me, it's MY fault for looking suspicious? Even though I was falsely "bitten"?

So you're basically saying don't bitch when a cop assaults you for looking suspicious yet being 100% legal.

If being investigated and questioned = bitten to you
Then what does being assaulted =?
