Satellite data proves Earth has not been warming the past 18 years - it's stable

Now you are just being an ass...

When did we start receiving global temperature data so we can talk about global warming??? Why does a liberal feel the need to jump on anyone that says the winter was colder or the summer was colder for only focusing on local data yet you can point to the first time a friggin thermometer was used and comprehensively decide that we have been recording global temperature for centuries.

This is the problem with the global warming people and their religion. Facts don't really matter if they contradict the belief that we are all going to die unless we subvert and pay tribute to people who proclaim themselves smarter than everyone else while flying around in personal jets...
But, if it is true, then a religion is the only thing that can create enough momentum to save itself. If this happens only Religion can persist after our Corps and Govts fall to the Ice.

if the Earth goes Ice Balls again and our DNA is not in a self sustaining environment, that's it for Mankind. So, some Religion and an L-5 colony with good veggies and recycled protein may become the new Creation Myth, if we are lucky and don't blast them out in a War.

I CLEARLY wrote recorded history. Red said some stupid shit about 450,000,000 BC, I said there were no records at that time, he said we used 'geological records' to tell us how hot it was. Then he tried to make it look like I was wrong about recording temps for centuries, to which I clearly showed everyone I wasn't.

I'd rather be a smart ass, than a dumb ass.

The local data COMBINED is what gives us global data. Local weather makes up patterns we call climate.

Facts like. "Thermometers have existed for centuries"?, or facts like "April was the hottest month on record"?.... damn those liberals and their 'fancy book words'.

I love how you jump to 'private jets' as though somehow that's relevant. Topic change much? Don't want to look any less 'google competent'?

There's a good chance that we can live through the next ice age, or asteroid.

We can see asteroids coming for years, and could easily crash something into it from far enough away to put it off course from earth. We have the technology to live permanently at the North and South poles, it's not a stretch that we could live in permanent snow.

See? There is adequate science for me now. Sat data on Ice shows we are losing Ice big time.

Exponential? You know what exponential loss of Antarctic Ice means, right? That is direct measurement from very precise satellite imaging.

The graph illustrates how exponential growth (green) surpasses both linear (red) and cubic (blue) growth.

GREEN = Exponential growth
RED = Linear growth
BLUE = Cubic growth
----------------------------------------------
So a little mind map of the Green line and where I see the "tell us what to do" problem.

So, check the GREEN between:
2 - 3 Almost nothing (Sagan observes Venus and says Greenhouse)
3 - 4 More research.....What? What is this, no cooling?
4 - 5 IPCC established to make reports about "what to do?" (Ice is melting faster now)
5 - 6 Where we are now, and even Doer can see it because satellites can measure it

7 - 8 PLANETARY WAR

You forget about Atomic Hyper War.

Do think we will suddenly begin to cooperate? Do you think even 1 billion people could live though 10 million years of ICE BALL. That's how long the last one was.

It's possible....

I'm not throwing my egg into a 'nuclear war scenario' just yet.

The only thing that survived that last ICE ball was the Oxygen producing bacterias and algae.

Let's fast forward and forget about the heat spell. Maybe all ice ages begin with that.

1800 years from now, when the hot spell is over and Ice is covering 1/2 of Canada and Russia and you can ice skate from South Africa to the South Pole, is this a placid and peaceful world, or it is scared by nuke fire that was first only to hold off the ice?

I don't see any Monkey Peace in our future. We want more nuke now. And I see the reason.

What is the use of Solar or Hydro, or gas fuel cells if there is no Grid, if a bucket of nuke slag can keep a cave warm, and no one sees the Sun for centuries. We have the life span of dogs because of radiation exposure and no food?

Sure. It could happen. But for a million years? We would devolve into Monkeys and lose the intelligence to protect ourselves.

The next well-documented ice age, and probably the most severe of the last billion years, occurred from 850 to 630 million years ago (the Cryogenian period) and may have produced a Snowball Earth in which glacial ice sheets reached the equator,[34] possibly being ended by the accumulation of greenhouse gases such as CO
2 produced by volcanoes. "The presence of ice on the continents and pack ice on the oceans would inhibit both silicate weathering and photosynthesis, which are the two major sinks for CO
2 at present."[35] It has been suggested that the end of this ice age was responsible for the subsequent Ediacaran and Cambrian Explosion, though this model is recent and controversial.
Interesting....

It's hard to say if it's even possible for those same variables to occur on earth. The continents are in much different places, and human activity has changed much of the landscape and atmosphere.

Oh now we count on humanities warmth, when this generation and the next is hell bent on not causing any more warming....the warming we may need.

It just seems that we running around in Logic circles like a pack of Monkeys.

Our current problem isn't going to take ~850,000,000 years to cause us serious grief. We can worry about the next 'ice ball*' (*which is theoretical anyways) when we're a few hundred million years closer to it.

I don't think we need to start planning for what will happen when the sun burns out either. :)

At least not yet.

Well, for one thing the orbit is different a bit, and the moon is farther out, a bit.

But, the real worry is Us. If were are causing heat when we need to be cooling toward a mild Ice Time, we could be making that eventuality much much worse.

It is going to happen, this Ice Age. And in less than 2000 years. Are we making it worse or better? Or can we do either?

The current estimate is 1500 years.

You argue that it is theoretical when your whole argument is theoretical.

Irony anyone?

I don't think there's enough evidence to say one way or the other. What we DO know now, is that greenhouse gasses are causing some whacky effects in the immediate future.

Nope... CO2 is going up but the global temperature is not.

Why doesnt anyone ever talk about the fluctuations of the sun and their effects on global warming? Oh yeah, cause there arent enough stupid people to extort money out of that would believe we could affect that...

We were talking about an 'ice ball', or 'snowball' earth. Maybe you should know what the fuck you're talking about before you interject?

Why was April the hottest month on record, and 2000-2010 the hottest decade on record?
