I'm open to led for veg or supplemental while we watch this technology evolve. At least the costs for led have begun to reduce substantially. And they keep getting better. I sure wldnt mind lighting more of my living area w led, as they have a very pleasant glow w little power consumption. I'll check out the riu forum for LEDs...
kind of a side note,
I see a grower that gets very good results pre-flowering with compact fluorescent (right on-top of hedge shape) for up to 3-4 wks then moves to high intensity with favorable results which always surprised me.
thanks for the replies explaining how RF problems have been eliminated by avoiding cords w these nu style ballasts (and little to no-heat, Hmm). As soon as a few older digitals pop-on, there goes the reception on my classical music on my room radio and that messes with my harmony.
