Things aren't going as optimal as I'd like... Pots definitely turned out to be too small, at least for the way I'm 'feeding' them. I wasn't able to water them at the start of the light period earlier this week and they did not like that...

The advantage of the cold weather in winter with my tubes is that I don't have to run the chiller, but, at the same time, the pump for my tubes does prevent the water from cooling down too fast and too far during light off period. In other words it kept the roots warm. Used to insulated the pots during winter but with 12 square pots... should probably get some of those heating mats, thinking of rebuilding my closet first so not sure yet, probably going to ride it out.

The pots I used were 6.5L / 1.7gallon, square. I potted up all except two of the plants to a 10L / 2.65gallon round pot. They weren't extremely rootbound but I could pull them out entirely easily from the square pot. They basically have an inch of soil extra on the sides and a little on the bottom now. Allows me to water enough for at least a day and a little extra, instead of starting the day entirely dry.

More pics in a bit.

Things do seem to go a little slower and less frosty than on my tubes where they have all the nutes+water they want 24/7. Sticking to soil for a while, but definitely going to do things a little different and more careful next run.

All the flowers I pollinated looks like this, and based on the rest being nearly all white pistils it seems to have worked out well.

Thanks Danny :eyesmoke:

I'm pretty sure my healthy plant streak - aside from the swc fiasco - ends at page 15 too. I miss my tubes... got a few with light tips and a few with premature yellowing, well, fading, and it's just annoying that I don't know how much nutes are left in the soil.

Weather is driving me nuts... can't close window cause it gets too humid, can't open it entirely and put exhaust on max cause it's too cold. They still look "ok" but went from looking great to looking "ok" a little too fast. Will post some pics in a bit.

Removed one of the regular phyllotaxy plants to give the others some more space, may remove one or two more. Still a couple of 'm that are at this point merely fillers anyway.

Favorite tri whorled:

Removed 4 of the 13 plants to give the best 9 some space and improve air circulation. Still not going 100% with all plants (like the paler one right in the front) but buds are developing nicely.

Favorite tri is left in the front. Center front is a regular, different mother than the two mothers of the rest. Looks pretty good for a regular:

top notch, sativied.

don't know whats up with riu lately, but this thread just showed up as updated, 10 days later. anyone else getting that?
Thanks Dangle, and yes you're not the only one. I have the same thing at another forum that uses the same software. Seems the alert system is not %100, also been tagged a few times without it showing in my alerts.

Gave them a little dressing with crumbled tablet because of the yellowing/fading on some of the larger fans on some plants. Burned the tips on a few of them, ah well, at least now I know I don't have to add more nutes like that liquid organics from B.A.C.

My current run still has a few weeks to go (2.5-3 roughly) so it's time to pop seeds for the next round, the P-F3 seeds.

I'm going to use most seeds from the swan and some from #4 (one of the small I had in hempy), both from the F2 gen. The swan is closest to my end goal, the #4 is sweet skunky and is closer as a candidate for my initial goal (sweet skunk x ch). The more stable the F3 turns out to be the more plants I will use for the F4 as to not narrow the profile more than needed.

I still have a clone from the swan, a monstercrop clone, as in revegged, which I may add too.

Last round I had a Late Night which I pollinated with the P-F2 males, probably going to run at least 1 females of those, for fun.

Going to pop 40 seeds, veg 36 plants and work towards flowering 9 females and 3 males. Will top and crop this run, probably 4 colas per plant, 6x6 in total.

I kept the P male I found in the current run (add one P for comparison):

My current grow isn't going very well and I expect the last weeks won't be pretty... I'm positive now the purple/red stems aren't just from the cold but they actually have a phosphor deficiency. The messed up thing is that I can't add nutes without burning the tips. It seems I put too much of everything (especially worm castings) in the soil up front and can't change fix the NPK balance by adding one, while watering only just release nutes. I added some bat shit that's high on P, has some Ca, N, and Mg too but won't be directly available so...

Now while I can easily blame that on being too careless mixing the soil, the manual watering and the too cold nights (freezing outside, moved closet next to window when I rebuild it a year ago...), I'm not happy with the results in several ways, need to reconsider my plans...

Have to agree, ^^ great clear pictures
Beautiful healthy plants

not a single unhappy leaf in sight :)

Hey you know the argument people often bring up against hydro that things can go wrong very quickly? I don't see it like that :) I miss my tubes... Page 16 isn't going to look, too many different problems and not a whole lot I can do about it at this point.

Got the seeds in a coco/soil mix but there's a chance I'm putting together some DWC boxes (like 3x5 sites x 2 boxes) and new tube setup with 9 sites.

I'm also not that excited about the genetics, the CHxCH that is. The CH definitely added to the chunk, the ICE, and slightly beefed up the Late Night (which as grandfather has CH too). The CH females were possibly the most frosty I've grown, definitely most frost on sugar and fan leaves. Yet the CHxCH just doesn't look that great. The poor nutrient regime and cold temps may contribute to that but it's hard to say how much.

Although this round is all about the wp trait, it's obviously not the only thing that matters in the end. The idea was to eventually cross P (chunk x CH) with a stabilized CH. It seems however, especially based on the P#1 the P#6 (parent of F2) and the swan (P-F2-#22), and comparing those to the CHxCH, that I already got the best out of the CH in the P cross, and crossing it to another CH line just isn't going to make it better. That shoots a hole in my plans, not sure what I'm going to do yet. Let's hope the F3 turns out great else I may start over from scratch. In the meantime, I may look for an alternative to the CH, maybe one of the haze varieties from my area as I mentioned earlier.

Ok, let's finish page 15 with some fairly healthy pics, although the tabletop spiral has faded a little too:

reg, healthy, but not happy with how the calyx don't swell up. Maybe the cold is delaying them more than I think but not what I was hoping for:

Tri (back right in group shot in Skunkd0c's post above, became fatter than the formerly fattest left in front)

Reminds me of the ICExCH, the one I didn't choose to work on... Based on CHxCH, the CH doesn't seem to be O Haze x Mexican Sativa. More like O Haze x a short flowering indica...
