US cops might, a lot of UK police have them positioned behind the rear view mirror looking out the windscreen and another in the back windscreen

I love how everyone is quoting the noted left wing socialist George Orwell and decrying the ills of capitalism.
You get extra points for quoting socialists. You get extra points for saying "decrying". Good job.

Thats a local council safety camera partnership van(crewed normally by civilians in police uniforms, cant remember their exact title) NOT a police vehicle.

so these police civilian support staff wear uniforms like the pcso ?
Normally just a white shirt with black epaulettes , wording on the epaulettes changes from force to force, normally these are the muppets manning the front desk in police stations/999 call centres/custody staff etc

lol, i bet they think they play a very important role in law enforcement ^^
some of those civil enforcement officers (traffic wardens) deal with other non traffic matters too

Our community wardens are out between 7.30am and 10pm every day in 128 Kent communities.
They:
can tackle low-level crime and antisocial behaviour (such as graffiti, littering, fly tipping and vandalism)
can take names and addresses and control traffic
are a reassuring uniformed presence
are fully trained to the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme before starting their work
encourage communities to work together and make things better for everyone
work closely with Kent Police and other professional authorities
talk with local people, offering information and advice
take part in local community activities.
They don't make arrests.
peace
