How did mankind get to where we are today? Every discovery, every advancement came from a place where it did not previously exist. Everything we know has been through such discovery.

Yes, you can teach yourself everything within the constraints of time and interest.
go teach yourself neurological surgery. Let me know when you finish

Ok. Does everybody get to attend college with the taxpayer picking up the tab? Should there be any selectivity for those we (society, via taxpayers) pay to send through college?
I don't know.

But honestly yeah I kinda like the idea of free college. I am curious to see how it works out for the European countries trying it. Chile just implemented it too.

Obviously the question is, how much education are people entitled to?

Clearly some say none. I disagree with this.

The European countries only admit "worthy" students, i.e. the top academic performers, and train them to do useful things. I don't really oppose that, in fact that seems to be a smart investment. I very much like the idea of trade schools as well.

once again having a high IQ does not mean you are smart. Deal with it
You think smart is the person who knows the most facts. That isn't intelligence. We could all do that if we had more control over our recall ability. I don't believe you are of low intelligence, but you are ignorant of many things. But that's ok, because I too am ignorant of many things, we all are.

Voting rights 1965 take it up with Feds
The Voting Rights act of 1965 doesn't give anyone the right to vote. again, the government CANNOT grant you a right. EVER. The Voting rights act of 1965 Prohibits discrimination in voting, It does not give anyone a right, if a piece of paper could give you a right, then another piece of paper could take it away, and those aren't called rights those are called privileges.

you ask how much money was wasted.
It was wasted, you still haven't been able to answer a VERY BASIC question about Dihedral. I build airplanes and I fly them, I do not have an aeronautical degree, just a license.

C'Mon, I know you have heard of sideslip, right? How about roll? Do you understand those terms? I mean you were a Leader of Men, an Officer in the Air Force, and the air force doesn't have a bunch of dummies leading the other people now does it?

I had a conversation with my dentist one time about his education and he said he's constantly updating his knowledge going to seminars and conferences to get the most up to date information available, I thought that was pretty admirable.
that's just dentist double speak for banging nasty prostitutes on the road.

if you live in America and pay property taxes or pay rent then you are paying for the public school system
sounds like you got your public education for free courtesy of illegal immigrants then.

you should thank those illegal immigrants for funding your education.

I feel justified in stepping up and demanding my damn money back...
that's because you are a moocher.

you want the benefit of an educated populace, but do not want to foot the bill.

that's called a freeloader.

you're just a mindless, partisan troll, constantly using the word 'we' but alone in your assertions. i would think apache junction could use improvement in the educational sector, what with all the meth labs and trailer parks.

i seriously doubt you pay much property tax
property taxes in AJ are notoriously low. the schools in arizona are 49th in the nation, i believe. or at least they were back when i used to live there.

How does one teach someone something?

I have been trying to teach you common sense to no avail.

Maybe you have to LEARN it...

Schools don't make you smart, your genes do that.
there's that white supremacy creeping in to every little bit of shit you spout.

My very favorite professor was Martha Watson. Martha was about five feet tall, had a southern accent and walked with a limp. She was a lesbian. She looked like everybody's stereotypical grandmother. Martha had a PhD in math and she taught me calculus by insisting that I attend class everyday and turn in my homework. She is probably dead now, she was old when she was my professor. She probably doesn't know that I idolize her to this day.
does she know you refer to gay people as "fags" as well?

And he touts public education... Sad to see such a sorry example of it.
