You could make the arguement that this thread belongs in politics. I would disagree. Privacy affects us all regardless of our political beliefs. Besides, I put it there too. I'm using science to test a theory.
Actually, a lot of his most important exposures were that the NSA is violating everybody's privacy. But it was a big, big secret.i think he's a hero im not too informed on this subject but if he's exposing the NSA then yeah ill buy him a beer
but if he's exposing the american people's private information then ill pop a round in his kneecap

But Mark Klein blew that whistle back in 05, with the media picking it up in 06.. I know snowdon did it bigger, but everyone seemed a bit 'Murica we fixin to get us some terrists pew pew pew so it didn't seem like a big concern. Last night John Oliver did an entertaining interview w Ed Snowden. I would link it if I could from wheeree I am now. But I recommend it. Worth the time.
Yeah, I know I left out any gray area. It was on purpose. Both but that's not an option. I do think he's a hero now. Making the decision to have the mic chasing your ass for the rest of your potentially miserable and shortened life is not something I'd ever have the backbone to do. These kind of things tend not to end well. I hope he can stay ahead of them.
How was that a big secret? Did you miss all the bullshit with the Patriot Act that's when spying started they said they can tap phones and all with no warrant so I just assumed they would run with it. Also I read the fine print on a pre-paid credit card seen some shit about the Patriot Act so they watch everything you pay 10 grand for grow equipment with a credit card they know. I don't have a bank account for that reason, the hands can't hit what the eyes don't see.Actually, a lot of his most important exposures were that the NSA is violating everybody's privacy. Not meaning to be rude, but you weren't paying enough attention if you think that the specifics he gave were not only officially very secret, but also unknown to the population in general.I think he is more of a douche bag myself.

It was known just the people where in denial, he just opened peoples eyes changed nothing they still spy.Not meaning to be rude, but you weren't paying enough attention if you think that the specifics he gave were not only officially very secret, but also unknown to the population in general.
I just watched it. I'd never heard of John Oliver and I thank you for the introduction, he is a hoot. It was quite humorous and horrifying. I feel sorry for Snowden, he looks tired, and why not, the govt is nothing if not relentless.Yeah, I know I left out any gray area. It was on purpose.
Oliver made an uncomfortable joke about that last night. He asked Snowden if he missed certain things about the US. One of them was "truck nuts". Snowden didn't know what they were so Oliver produced a pair of 'Merican flag truck nuts. Snowden said something like "you've really thought this through" and Oliver replied "One of us did."
