i don't have an issue with guns..but no state allows you to get behind the wheel of a car without licensing..open carry involves the public and it's a disservice to; as well as flat out dangerous as you've experienced..lives will be lost. safety training is paramount..but the state that allows without some sort of certification? what is the message?..think about it.

Vermont allows unlicensed concealed carry for people as young as 16, provided they are not a felon or were dishonorably discharged.

Reminds me of a bench press joke we played in the gym years ago. We loaded up the bar with a couple of metal plates on each side (about 225 lbs) and then loaded up lots more plastic "plates" on each side so it looked like about 700 lbs. When the gyms resident 500 lb big bencher guy showed up we pumped out a bunch of reps which from a distance looked legit. The loose stacking helped with the clanging of the two metal plates so it sounded legit too. We had him going for a couple of minutes...
