Well cooking dinner for Nellie and me tonight, Everyone has heard cabbage and sausage but here are is my spin of it..

this is what I will be using... I don't use measuring cups so bear with me.

1 medium head of cabbage

2 german potatoes

1 pound of Kielbasa sausage

5 slices of thick cut bacon

half a jar of sauerkraut

1 German apple

2 handfuls of carrots

1 bag of corn

4 sweet peppers

shit ton of salt and pepper

some spicy german style mustard

maybe some yellow squash but I don't know

I'm not a 100% if I am going to use the oven or stove top, one thing is we don't have a big enough pan for the oven so I got to figure that out..

but will update with pictures when it's done. Around 9ish

Schmekt lecker!!

Not sure about the German apples and potatoes though? They just have the same from all the supermarkets I've been in.

If you want a truly traditional German dish with cabbage look up Grun coll.

Here in America we have Aldi's, it's a German super market with tons of German food. They are far superior than our shit ass walmarts
We have Aldi here and in the UK. Lidl is better though. Do you have that?

However it's better in Germany because over here all the Spanish crap is mixed in. Xmas selection is good. Lidl I'm on about.

Nope we only have Aldi's to my knowledge.. And American shit is mixed in too. But it is by far the cheapest place to shop at where I am at.

So first I browned the sausage and bacon, then mixed in everything else. I have dead set on medium heat. And every 10 minutes I pour it in a mixing bowl to, well mix it up. I imagine it will take at least 2 hours to cook..

ps I used the stove top, with a 2.5 gallon pot filled to the brim.

Sounds awesome OD, but I gotta wonder just how "German" it all is, with the Kielbasa and all. But then the border between Poland and Germany and Slav and Teuton is only a few millennia old and highly porous. The German sausage Haus in my city does the best kielbasa around in a town known for it's Poles so, I think I'm just rambling now.

You can definitely cook some mean stuff man, you should try your hand at Sauerbraten.

Basically marinate a bottom round roast or similar in a mix of red wine and red wine vinegar with spices. Pepper, juniper, cinnamon, allspice, etc. But marinate that shit for a week, then broil it with some mirepoix. Very underrated German meal IMO.
