The Nug Machine... Round 3

good gosh, look at those mainfolds,, I need to study up on mainlining, i have clones coming in about 2 weeks, ordered up some parts today, time is short, and that mainlining looks so good,
you sure have me worried your gonna run out of space, but you have done it 2 times now,, should be fun
Nugbuckets ahs a special/separate thread/instructions for mainlining clones.
It is a BIT different because the nodes are often not symmetrical.

I went out to the garden this morning and moved and tied a bunch of the tallest colas outward towards the edges.
Also got some of the more significant side branches tied in the now open middle area.
It looks a MESS right now till all the tops turn back towards the light, but I REALLY have some great light penetration in the middle now.
Pistils are poppin tho !

that does look better, much more even and spaced, those leaves flip back over so fast too,
how many days have you been flowering now?,, how much more do you think they will stretch?,, I am off to home depot for vent items
Only 7 days into flower.
I expect another 4 to 6 inches of stretch... manageable !

Res change today.
Plants did not come out but I had to get my hand down in there to remove the drain riser tube and before I pulled it to drain the root tub, I swished the roots around and untangled the ball of roots on each plant.
Everything is really good in the root tub and the lower res, which I did take out and clean, but honestly, I believe I could clean every other week and just do a quick drain & refill every other week.
PH was at 6.3 when I dumped the soup today.
New soup was slammed way down to 5.4, and now rising slightly.
Tied a couple more tops over and out of the center.
Getting a good canopy going but I don't think I am out of the woods yet, stretch-wise.....

Cleaned up a lot of the smaller side branches that just were not up to standards.
Never going to be much but some little larfy popcorn buds... hated to trim off possible budsites, but I think it will pay off by sending that wasted energy up to the tops.20151023_114808_resized.jpg 20151023_114835_resized.jpg

Wow! really high tech setup you got going. Love the Nug Machine v3. Following your amazing work now.

Can you tell me what the height of your grow/flower area is? My cabinet useable height is like 32" total. Might be slight slower with my light. I probably will need to do some sort of LST to keep the height in check.

I probably have about 30" useable.
I should have flipped sooner but the one plant was lagging behind a little so.....
Thanks for the kind words, glad to have ya aboard !

how much space do you have between the tops and the light? They look like they're going to grow right into the lights?
There's about a foot to any given top..... right now...
I hope to be able to contain the stretch OK.
I can move the taller ones all outward and if they get too tall, I'll supercrop them over and support them from above with wire.
This will be interesting, I think?

Hey fishdeth quick question do you follow your ppm/ec in your res or do you rely on how much you mix your nutes and additives and set ur ph to what you want? And not worrie about ppm? Reason being i mixd mine in my res got 1260ppm and set my ph to 5.8 (im running coco coir) but i checked my base of my pots where my plants uptake there feed and it was 1340ppm/ph5.8 im unsure weather its the oxygen driving the ppm up from my air stones ?

I mix mine up according to this chart.
I am using the Humbolts Secret "Golden Tree" supplement.
I mix for 8 gallons, my system capacity.
After adding the nutes, I set the PH down to 5.3 or so.
I check the PPMs right after and make a mental note.
PH comes back up a couple times and I knock it back down so that I am starting day 1 at 5.5.
With auto add backs, at the end of the week, and time for res change, the PH is right around 6.2
I have noticed the PPM increases at night, then starts its way back down the next day.
I keep an eye on it several times during the week and watch it drop.
This way I know the girls are eating
My soup is kinda dark thanks to the Golden Tree, and I keep an eye on it thru the fish window and I can see it becoming more clear every day, again, the girls are eating.
I am not sure if the mere addition of air bubbles alone can raise or lower the PH of the soup....?

most definitely interesting! Kudos to your belief in what you've built. Some guy came around saying it was impossible to grow in a pc, and it feels great with it being 3-4 weeks away.

cheers bro its given me a great insight to as why my ppm raise and lower at my auto pot feeder tray i just couldnt figure for the life of me why my res ppm would stay the same but to as why my auto pot feeder tray varies but you answered my question perfectly it varies due to the fact my girls are feeding during the day and that i usually check well have been checking once in the morning and once at night as its my first time running this stuff but cheers bro you deserve a double thumbs up
double thumbs up.jpe

Sounds about how mine is at, I think it's the plant raising and lowering taking what they want and spitting the rest. No ill effects roots massive white no burned tips either. It keeps you on your toes though.

I was reading the included instructions and the lamp has a 2 week "burn in" period where it is extra strong.
Like near the equator, right.... sweet !
I look at that pic and I see a dark spot or 2.
I'll move the supplemental lights tomorrow.
