A coercion based monopoly in a truly free market is virtually impossible though....

If people are free to trade on a consensual basis, any "monopoly" that arises, comes about because the consumers have independently and freely decided in large numbers, (thus creating an affirmative aggregate) that a given service provider gives such excellent service that the "monopoly" is created. If the service provider fails to uphold that level, competitors can easily sway customers, since the customers are free to go elsewhere.

Net result is in a free market any monopolies are created by excellent service, not by edicts of force that hold or limit consumers to a false set of options.

By the way, your liberal Economics Professors were wrong, that's why they seek the security of coercion based state sponsored colleges / degree mills.

The year I graduated high school the district received grants to remove trees and prop up these fences around the entire perimeter. The cost was enormous and the benefit ... well after the gate went up a few students couldn't flee from a stabbing and countless other violent events started to happen in this newfound "cage"

I don't think it is any coincidence either, you got fights on the yard in jail too. If you question your teachers you get sent to the warden. The warden then takes away your saturday without even discussing it with your parents.

Seriously I can see why so many people are fighting in this discussion but the signs are definitely there. The thing people pass over too many times is the fact that they are spending money on security that should be spent on technology and maintenance of the facilities they already have.

I forgot to add that if your child doesn't attend school that you can actually be arrested for it lol.

I don't even want to get into it about my college classes, I am trying to just pick up a little certificate so I can earn more money over the course of my years and I keep getting some of the worst fucking teachers that I have ever seen. Now I know someone is going to come on here and try to powerbomb me over these comments but this is the 3rd consecutive quarter where I have gotten a BRAND NEW TEACHER to the school and these brand new teachers never seem to have a lesson plan ready so by week 4 you're already behind in everything they need to teach you.

Oh and then the class size for speech just got increased from 20 to 40 students so now that class doesn't teach you shit either you just go in and waste 2 hours listening to others do shitty speeches because they never were taught to do the fuckin speech in the first place.

Biggest waste of money in my life has been school, most education I have ever received was by people who inspired me to look deeper into things and I appreciate that you have done just that.
