I guess the only way to avoid stretch is to use autos with long days.@Chronikool tried all blue mono at lights out and the photo fems(12/12 from seed) never went into flower.........

But are the plants as short? Here's an experiment for someone with auto seeds; one in 12/12, one in 20/4 and one in continuous. See how they differ. I predict that the 12/12 will stretch. To avoid stretch, Keep the lights closer until 3rd week of flower.
Also 12/12 from seed with regular seeds use less power and yield more than autos, when grown properly.
It depends a lot on the strain, grow a pure indica 12/12 from seed and they don't stretch but I get better yield with hybrids. But are the plants as short? I see, nonetheless I'm pretty sure most strains stretch a lot under 12/12 but it appears that there's no way to avoid it. I still think autos would get stretchy under 12/12 like a photoperiod plant. Let's just call it a hunch. It depends a lot on the strain, grow a pure indica 12/12 from seed and they don't stretch but I get better yield with hybrids.
who cares the only use for autos is outdoors\greenhouse for long day summers to get flowering early enough to finish before winter.I see, nonetheless I'm pretty sure most strains stretch a lot under 12/12 but it appears that there's no way to avoid it. Extra N and extra blue in the lighting spectrum during the first three weeks will both slow the stretch.I see, nonetheless I'm pretty sure most strains stretch a lot under 12/12 but it appears that there's no way to avoid it. Not necessarily. Due to being able to use long day length, you may be able to get shorter plants and more weight per plant and possibly more resin. You could experiment and find the exact day length that produces highest yields, since you can use whatever you want. The only downsides are higher power usage and having to take whatever phenos you get from the seeds. I was really just using autos as a possible way to test my theory that long nights cause stretching though.who cares the only use for autos is outdoors\greenhouse for long day summers to get flowering early enough to finish before winter.

I what area is your crop till worth $250/oz?No stretch is not affected by light period in autos in my experience. Just end up smaller. I run mine 18/6.
And you know what I find hilarious? People will spend thousands of dollars to get a great growroom setup, then worry about the cost of electricity! I don't care how much you pay per kwh, your crop is worth a hell of a lot more! lets use an average value of $250/oz. say you average 3 oz per grow. That's $750 worth of weed, minus say $100 for electric.... How many grows till everything is paid for?
Personally, I'm at the point were my per grow costs are around $65 for electricity. Because I grow in organic soil, material cost are about $1.00 a plant, probably way less than that!
So sometimes I run certain strains on 24/7. I can afford that much easier than I can $400oz weed or $60 a gram shatter!

That would be crazy to get that price or any near here in Sacramento lol, only in a clubNo stretch is not affected by light period in autos in my experience. Just end up smaller. I run mine 18/6.

I'm glad you find it funny but to many, it's a real cost that should be monitored. I can think of a few reasons that energy usage is important. No stretch is not affected by light period in autos in my experience. Just end up smaller. I run mine 18/6.
