Cree LED CXB3070 Powered Grow Light (9 COB)

So I'm about to start up another grow and I've been stuck on HPS for so long...(MH for veg)
I get great yeilds, Great product. I want to switch though because people are saying if you spend the money on good LED's your yeilds increase...

So I'm going with the light i listed in the headline. I see a lot of talk about them. I was planning on 3 of these and 2 1,000W MH HPS, going to have about 20 plants. Do you guys think I'll be happy?

1500$ is a lot of money to spend on a light, considering I could grab a 1000watt fixture HID and have money left to run it for 3 months and replace the bulb.... SO I want to make sure these LEDs are giving results people want. THIS ONE in particular. Thanks guys.

Why not CXB 3590?
If your going to spend that much, might as-well have the most efficient cobs.
There are a couple Manufacturers that use them now.

If you are looking for the best buy possible you should aim for Cree cxb 3590 3500ºk @1400mA...or 1750mA!

Or if you know how to handle tools diy! (It is easy no soldering...just drilling and connection! )

Currently I use 2 1kW MH/HPS lights. Sq Foot I honestly have never measured because I have so much space... I don't have the money to even use all my space.
I am going to run 24 plants. Trying to do cycles, 12 in flower at all times, 12 in veg at all times, with a bunch of clones n seedlings starting with T5s.
I want to get some GOOD Quality LED's that will increase my yields. If it isn't increasing my yields then I have no interest, and right now my yields are pretty nice.
First I was scimming through the Kind XLs, MARS and all that.. but im seeing Cree/COBs are where it's at... I want quality..***** I should also add, I veg my plants for about 4 weeks 5 max. So they wont be gigantic and need tons of light, but my plants usually are about 5ft tall or more when done so they need some GOOD lighting.

Also since I'm running 24 plants I dont want a light thats made to be hung over ONE plant.

I've seen the whole DIY thing, I just don't have the time to toy with it. I need someting that's ready to hang up and start growing. Thank you for your input though mate.

Any light source can increase yield if you pack enough of them in there. To provide a good estimate on what will do the job with the least energy a space assessment is necessary to determine what the light intensity will be.

But if you want a rough estimate the T3-2100 should provide 1.5-1.6 GPW in hydro. They are about 230 watts output, so minimum of 12 oz per lamp.

There is one in stock. I am waiting on drivers to make more in the 2100 series. I have a stack of 1750 drivers and will be adding some T2, T3, and T4s in that series over the next week.

Yes, Tasty LED is my baby. My lamps have a veg switch that provides 60% power.

And a diming function is very useful for vegg!
And the black casing increase yield...doh! It look cool...sorry...lol!

lets be realistic here 1400 watt cob to and i will use higher end 1.3 GPW which i think not many hit more in the 1.1 - 1.3 mark = 1820 divide that by 454 grams per pound - 4 pounds
So to say 1400 watt cob = 2000 watt hid your crazy i pull 2.25 = 2.5 per 1 k so adding it all up my GPW is still reasonable not as drastic as Cob but it still beat the cob in final weight by a pound and 1 pound more is lot more production at the end of the day
And to say 1400 watts of cob will not produce heat there fore no exhaust is needed is BS if like rahz mentions his flip of switch gives it 60 percent eff what is the other 40 percent HEAT >>?????

See this is how I've been thinking because I'm not only trying to replace those watts but also Expand them. I want more plants, I did 12 with 2,000Watts. I was going to do 24 with 4000. I wanted to go ALL LED but I don't trust it til I test it so I want at least 2000W equivalent with LED and then the dualspec1000watters....


So, if I get Two or Three of these http://www.tastyled.com/product-p/t3-2100.htm Plus my 2000watts of HPS, will I be happier than 4000watts hps. That's the golden question.


*Also if I had to guess.. the room is about 8ft wide, and 18ft long with 8ft ceilings. I want to make it a veg/flower area.

Tasty is 550 a pop. I'm new to all these lights so you need to break things down I apologize.... When I started it was only MH n HPS, then dual spec... I'm very new to this other stuff but it looks like it penetrates more to give better buds..

I'm terrible with soil but have ran a test area in soil (which I recently switched to hydro). My choice of plant was Super Critical simply because I had it. It decent smoke but has been difficult for me to grow well in soil or hydro. Just can't make them happy. Anyway, the space was 3x3 and I was using CXB 3070 AB at 1.4 amps, which is 45% efficient. I came out with 220 grams on 200 watts of emitters. 1.1 GPW with the plants finishing kinda sickly looking. Using the more efficient CXB 3590 at 2.1 amps (50% efficient) I would expect the same conditions to produce 1.2 GPW, but again if I knew what I was doing it could be better. I had gnats and never properly tested the PH. I had a cheap soil PH meter and it kept telling me the PH was high but I never got it below 7, though I don't know what it actually was because I think the meter was crap. I also overfed going into week 6 and being a scrog I wasn't able to flush.

Anyway, thanks for checking my brand out. The T3-2100 ($530) is the brightest lamp in the 2100 series until sometime this spring. There is a T4-1750 that is 53% efficient and the extra emitter bumps the wattage up to 248 output. The cost per par watt is 4.60 and 5 for the 2100 and 1750 respectively, so the 2100s are slightly better bang for the buck. Once you have a space estimate I can give you exact figures cost and light intensity for consideration.
