For those on the bottom. No doubt. For the middle class and upper class. Doubtful.Every other western first world country on Earth has universal healthcare
It's clear the verdict is in; it's better

Did I say that?So the 'for profit' health insurance companies and pharm who pay billions in lobby know better than the doctor issuing your care?
1,000,000 / 50 = 20,000
80 = Average number of hospitals per state
20,000 / 80 = 250 doctors per hospital.
Yea bro. 1 million doctors sounds legit. I can totally see that there are 250 doctors per hospital. No seriously. Makes sense. I mean, hospitals are nearly swarming with doctors. Shit, there are more doctors than there are nurses. Amirite?
As of 2014, there were roughly 760,000 beds, in all the hospitals in the United States.
Your claim is that there are more doctors than there are available beds.
You're a dumbass. And your penis is very tiny.
Another liberal folly. The new single-payer proposal doesn't get into many specifics of how it would be funded,
Yes, we are talking about active doctors who are in hospitals, not including general practice family care facilities. And the number is not 908k, it is 120k less than that.Holy shit, you're stupid.
You think doctors only practice in hospitals?
1 million is almost exactly right, you fool.
There were 970,000 doctors of medicine in the US in 2009.
There were 1,026,788 in 2012.
Kaiser has it at 908,000 active doctors in 2015.
It appears YOUR lap pinky is very tiny.
Hospital beds...lol...what a maroon.
970,000 - 120,000 - 57,000 = 793,000.
In 2009, there were over 970,000 doctors of medicine all over the United States. This figure included more than 120,000 inactive and some 57,000 unclassified physicians. Thus, the U.S. has a less marked physician density compared to some other countries.

You should actually read what you are referencing. Or perhaps research a little more than doing a 2 second google search. You do realize there are DR's outside of hospitals, don't you?
I don't need to insult you, you do a good enough job of it on your own.
Total number of Dr's in the US in 2012 = 1,026,788

Near 800k and a million when compared to 2000 is more than close enough to say that not very many physicians have openly endorsed his plan.970,000 - 120,000 - 57,000 = 793,000.
Not 1 million.
But I can totally see how your logic wants you to believe that 793,000 IS 1,000,000. Yep, totally the same number.
No. It is not 793,000. The current stats is less than that.Near 800k and a million when compared to 2000 is more than close enough to say that not very many physicians have openly endorsed his plan.
But if you want to be trivial about things, then yes, 793k is not equal to 1 mil. Where do I send your blue ribbon?
No. It is not 793,000. The current stats is less than that.
Please, try to stick with factual information.
I am not debating that 2,000 of ~760,000 is very small percentages. That I agree. I just want people to be more accurate with the information they use to debate. Especially when the exaggeration works in the arguers favor.
I'm also debating the fact that the statistics are even accurate.
Statistics show that there are roughly 750,000 beds. And statistics also show that there are roughly 750,000 physicians. That implies there is roughly 1 doctor per available bed. Common sense and real life experience tells us that is not true. Not even by a long shot.
My current girlfriend is a nurse. I asked her this question. She stated to me that at her hospital there is 1 doctor for every 20 patients, roughly. I tend to believe what she says, and I also don't have any reason to believe it is any different anywhere else.
So instead of a 1:1 ratio as statistics report, I'm thinking the ratio is more like 1:20.
It also sounds to me you were arguing for that sake of arguing and not actually thinking about the bigger picture. Am I close?
I stopped reading part way in, but I'm sure this is yours...No. It is not 793,000. The current stats is less than that.

Good. I'm glad you agree that when debating, it's good to stick to facts and not pull numbers out your ass.I stopped reading part way in, but I'm sure this is yours...

1,000,000 is not 760,000.
And we all know there is not 1 doctor for every available bed.
sheskunk, you know all about pulling things out your ass. you didn't enjoy it then, and we don't enjoy it now.

There is a shortage of doctors and it will get worse.
This is what happens to any industry when people who don't know what they're doing, that group that calls themselves The Government, thinks they know better than the experts. Obamacare is nothing more than another failed govt. solution. But no worry, "you can keep your doctor"....if you can find him.
