The homeless/zombie crisis.

still waiting for a full list of businesses that shut down due to "the shitty homeless people".

all i've heard about n this thread is the plight of these helpless business owners and how they have had to shut down the businesses that they laid so much work into, their hopes and their dreams, only to go under because cretins like you can't stand walking past a fucking homeless encampment.

what's the matter, was all that bullshit?

maybe boise is a better fit for you.

Point out where I said that?

Hey buck, read this one too. 88 homeless died on the streets last year, up from 56 the year before. End of the years coming, id love to see the stat on this year. We just had snow today, id bet this years number just went up.
so one single business has changed location, rather than shutting down?

the persecution of wine sippers continues.

and now you want to pretend like you care about the plight of the homeless? suck my balls.

Here's hoping you freeze to death on the street. No worries, I'd heave you into a waiting garbage truck.

Well you trolling this thread instead of coming up with ideas isnt helping anything. Ive always thought you were one of the brightest members on the site. I would have thought that since this issue is so close to your heart that you would have some constructive input to read. Seriously if anyone would have an idea or two on how to help i would have thought it would have been you.

i'd suggest a tax increase of $0.42 per $1,000 of assessed property value to go towards affordable housing and other programs for the homeless.

But, but, why won;t you send money to help the homeless?

You know about Portland's chemtrails?
i believe the way property taxes work is that they support the schools, fire, police, and other programs in your local area. it's unclear to me if denver sends funds to portland.

maybe you canlook into that after you get done with the chemtrails research.

Property taxes?! Pssshhhhh. This lowlife would be spitting on down-on-their-luck folks if he could get away with it. He reeks of pseudo-entitlement, 'white rage', and phoniness.

He avoids the Politics section. Probably a safe bet.

My wife and her friends on the otherhand, well they do care. Theyre scared of the homeless people because theyre pushy and mean.
That's the impression I got from your OP. Entitled and scared.

You tried covering it up with anger but anger is not a true emotion. Anger is actually sadness or fear.

Your wife and her friends sound like terrible people.

Very true. This is a hard thing to deal with. If there were such facilities out there, they would be jail like in my opinion but maybe without the incarnation part. Places where people are fed, clothed, and taken care of with medical help as well. Places where people who want help can go to escape the cold, the drugs, and the problems associated with the lifestyle. Places that would let you detox and take care of you while you do it. Then there could be a program to get them back into the work force and ultimately taking care of themselves.
Are you unaware that there was a robust mental health system across this country that Reagan disassembled.

Further your 'vision' and conjecture of what a seriously mentally ill person needs is completely opposite of what is actually necessary for example you mention work force! These people are so seriously unstable there is no work force option other than possibly sheltered workshops for the highest functioning.
Wish him luck? Pshhhh, you are a better man than I -- I'd scowl at him and withhold food from him, reserving it for the more deserved.
Maybe he can hook up with that 'fdd' scumfuck and they can discuss "euthanizing the homeless". Better still, maybe they can fill their pockets with stones and go for a swim.

I'm taking a few cases of Progresso Chickarina and some old toys down to a local soup kitchen this weekend, something we do on the regular.....I sincerely hope that the soup will not be consumed by vile fuckers like these two.
Help me out here on this disambiguation, do the people who call people of Italian descent, 'Guidos' rand scum or non-scum?

I'll bite; increase corporate taxes and use the money for assistance to the poor, disabled, disadvantaged and down on their luck.

So if the average house in portland is 400k wed be talking about a 168 dollar tax to go to affordable housing. Thats 102.5 million if youre only talking about a portland tax. Are you only talking a portland tax to fix Portland, or an Oregon tax to fix portland?

672 million if you tax all of oregon @ 400k per property x .42/1000$ of assesed value. But if you look at the average oregon property value it drops to 300k, cutting the 672 mill minus portlands 102 to around 427.5 if you subtract portlands chunk (102 mill), and then multiply whats left (570 mill) by .75 (the difference of Oregons average plat to portlands average plat) and add it back to portlands contribution it comes to 530 million.

Now realistically thats a great number. Id guess that would develop 50 acres. @50 acres of land developed for portlands homeless, it would leave each of the 4000 homeless people about 544.5 square feet to live on each without any infrastructure or commercial or industrial zoned property, just houses, in one year.

Portland itself is around 100 000 acres and houses 610 000 so about 7144 square foot plat per resident.

Granted the action would take time and moving people into the housing would take years even after building was completed, so more land development projects could already be underway funded by the upcoming years tax contributions.

Sounds good to me.
