Young black males and public education.

Blaming the victim of a theft or rape is not a very kind thing to do and fails to refute that "property tax" is a form of extortion.
you were made aware of the property tax, you agreed to the property tax, yet you are still a slave who is being raped.

why are you white supremacists so fucking whiny?

The first thing I would do is empower people to make their own choices and not sanctify the use of offensive force and threats as an acceptable means to gain "customers". So, a myriad of things could happen, but none of them would attempt to separate the means used from the end result. Making an exception for SOME people to use offensive force as a means is a lot like rationalizing violence...because it IS violence.

I am pro mind my own business. I do not have a uterus and what other people do with theirs may meet with my disapproval, but it's not up to me to tell other people how to run their life. Conversely, it is never up to people to tell me how to run my life as long I honor their right to do the same.
That still isn't an answer though. Again, you said that the way public schools are funded needs to be changed. I would like to hear some of your ideas on this. Do you have any alternate methods to fund public schools?

In a perfect world I would like to keep every penny that I earn as well. However, I like driving on paved roads, I like turning my faucet on and have water come out of it, and I like the idea of every child (regardless of financial means) learning to read and write.

What do you think would happen to a country if they stopped collecting taxes and just left all of this up to the citizenry??

@Flaming Pie

you need support and you only have one!
I believe he was referring to the culture and circumstances that led to being a single mom with 3 kids.

I am married and have a mortgage plus good credit. No assistance at the moment. Hubby's new job disqualified us. I feel no shame in taking something that was offered. Its a relief to not have to take it. They give you very little to no time to return paperwork and the case managers are never available. It is a relief to not worry about providing proofs in 24-48 hour period or wait for a phone renewal that never comes then get penalized for it.

The issue with single mom and three kids is more of a society moral colapse imo. If the woman is black, she likely is being affected by the policies that have adversely affected the black culture. Overall, people don't work on marriages like they used to.

amazing that you can find a way to complain about getting free shit from taxpayers for over a decade, but you managed.
I am not complaining about the free stuff. I am complaining about the fear of losing benefits. Totally not worth the stress if you have an opportunity to make more money. Everytime you make a mistake or your case worker makes a mistakes it can leave you with out benefits for several weeks.

So when he made the difference in pay and we lost benefits it was a relief. I am grateful for the help but ai am also grateful I dont have to worry about paperwork and another person following through to buy groceries.

I guess you never heard the expression, 'don't shit where you eat'?

A disproportionate number of young black males do poorly on standardized testing in my local school district. I assume this to be nationwide, though I would love to hear of an area that has resolved this problem.

Poverty has a direct link to poor education. The poorly educated are likely to live in poverty and children of poverty are likely to receive a poor education, thus the cycle continues. But there is a noticeable difference between the black females, poor white of both genders, and Hispanics of both genders in one group vs black male performance.

The children of "well to do" minority parents do not have alarmingly low scores and in fact they fall in line statistically with their white peers.

It would seem to me that the poor black males are holding the other students back since they are all in the same classroom and we as a community are doing these young men a disservice by giving them such a poor education.

Do you have any ideas why these students are not successful?

What are your thoughts on solutions to this issue?

And maybe I'm thinking about this wrong and we should focus on the poverty factor alone without regard to race and gender. I just figure those at the bottom deserve the most attention and the more we can narrow this down the more likely we could come to a possible solution.

Yep, just one more thing Obama did and the right bitched about. So....who do we trust David Duke or Obama ? Hmmm....

In 2014 President Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper initiative to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential.

no one buys this "my husband got a new job and we suddenly aren't welfare rats anymore" routine, pie.

You're correct on the first statement. I am aware that the oxymoronic property tax theft exists. I did not agree to it though.

I am not a slave being literally raped, (anally penetrated) although the similarities between tactics rapists and coercion based governments use is hard to ignore.

Oh, I'm not a white supremacist either. I can sometimes be perceived as whiny, but it's the internet, so maybe I'm not.

Your post was full of wrong, a tiny bit of right and generally sucked. I give it a D-.

property tax is what helped fund the public school that you attended. It also funded the public schools that your not one... not two, but three sons also attended. It is rather clear that you have used the benefits that property tax provide. What type of hypocritical individual are you ?
Did your mother and father attend public schools ?

The kind that once he realizes something is wrong, he stops doing it.

Generally speaking there are two kinds of human business interactions, those which arise from voluntary exchange where people are not under duress and those which use coercion/duress as a means. I would use the ones that allow people to interact on a peaceful and voluntary basis. Presently government schools do not do this, which is irrefutable by the way.

If you or I gained our "customers" by use of threats wouldn't you think that was wrong ?

If coercion based taxes didn't exist, the world would be much better. A citizen who hasn't explicitly consented to his status, is not free.

You'd have everyone pay out of pocket. What about the children whose parents can't afford it? Do they just go without an education?

No, I'd not have institutions which rely on coercion based business interactions. That's a means which I disavow. I'd have everybody make their own choices, but not force their choices on others.

So I wouldn't be funding an institution which relied on offensive force to exist, I'd seek other alternatives.

"We" can't afford to tell children bullying is wrong and then proceed to implement systems which rely on bullying. It fucks with kids heads.

let's not try to change the subject away from the fact that you said it was "polite and reasonable" to hang a sign that says 'no negroes allowed', and then tried to claim that everyone else is racist except you.

but actually, 20+ million people have signed up for obamacare. this year was record setting. i guess people want to get covered before your racist orange hero takes it away.

Sad.

Except you're wrong. When a person buys a house they agree to pay the owner a sum of money. If they can't reach agreement that person can make an offer to another person for another house and if they can reach agreement the purchase happens.

Property tax = an oxymoron If the characteristics of property and tax are understood, my equation is irrefutable.

*benefits
Yeah the rabbit hole is pretty deep on this one. Most just don't pay attention to the differences in a simple fee deed and a title. "ownership" is so subjective these days.

so I guess you can look at it as paying back what you used

In that realm, I've paid far more in property taxes than any benefit I ever got from government schools.

However that's not a very good argument since it relies on the continuation of something which relies on force and assumes that because something HAS been done a certain way, that it necessarily SHOULD continue in that way.

In other words it's time to recognize that using force to fund something is a dumb idea, since it perpetuates a contradiction.

You really are having a hard time admitting that government schools are funded thru force....it's kind of funny the lengths proponents of government schools will go to, to avoid discussing that.
