As a fan of these LED boards , i felt posting a thread on the builds being done and planned around this tech. Although i have a couple of builds completed and running , i began to lurk various grows and have been seeing the great builds being done plus the grows.

I plan another light build ( simple rail design with cobs ) for a corner room grow i have set up. I have a hood light build occupying this space and have been brainstorming a new light.



Feel free to post your ideas , grow pics , rigs , lights , optic mods , whatever. ALL IS WELCOME.
I think over time this light will settle into a regularly seen category / thread here on RIU . As @robincnn and crew work on improved designs and options , what better place to highlight these. From noob basic lights ( 90w kit ) to full builds @Growmau5 , there are tons of configurations and designs ready to be shared.

Lets see what you want to bring to the table , should be kinda fun ......

Hard to follow @ttystikk but here's my contribution I will be starting a thread in a day or so comparing a QB to some Citizen single cob light engines. So far very impressed with this four QB board light had to jam everyone in there as a ballast on my hid blew out

Heres my first qb build 3000k boards and 2700k cree system power at the wall was 799w @ 120v but have it running on 240v now,bright as fuck par taken in real world setting 18 inches from panel or canopy level pleases me

If you suppliment cobs with boards, I suggest using 90 CRI cobs to suppliment the 80 CRI spectrum of boards.
I will post my lamp build here too. Trying to run a single board with some monos around it.

I'm planning to build a two tier rack for flowering 4-6 plants under each
Probably gonna go with a hlg320

How many Quantum boards would be recommended over a 4x8? Are you guys running them at 150 watts a board and if so would running them a little less hard - 120 watts be better?

It could be as low as 4! So 4 on the low end and how deep are your pockets on the high end.

But the real question is...how many stoners does it take to build a QB light?

I love this pic. LEC's supposedly get so bright/hot that they plasma. These QBs almost get white hot and flare but no heat.
