Why should I pay taxes to live off my own land and mind my own business? I wouldn't even need to use the road! I don't need the public school either I can home school but I'm forced to pay for the school so I might as well use it.

But you do use roads. You use the internet and electricity. You benefit from police and fire protection. You benefit from the common defense. You get mail. And you clearly got a publicly funded education. All of these services have been funded in whole or in part by tax revenues. Therefore you DO benefit from taxes.

The better question is why you think it's acceptable to be so selfish that not paying taxes to support the society you benefit from is in any way morally acceptable?

It's not really "my math". It's simply "the math". If no person has a right to do something, it equals zero right. My wishing it equaled something else won't change the math.


Your reasoning fails to include that those concerns you have could better be handled by private persons acting in a voluntary and charitable way.

I'm not sure there would be more rage induced murders. I think there would be less property crime and less murder. Especially if you consider that war is simply legalized murder and doesn't just sponataneously happen, it usually involves government(s) Less property crime almost always occurs in a well armed and civil area.
